Just my opinion, but I think naming "most likely to transfer" without any actual information is kind of bush league and bordering on douche-baggy.
Agree.
Why? This speculation happens every year during the season and after with potential players hitting the portal. It's part of message board chatter. There are a lot of things people can get upset over and feeling hurts on message boards, speculating on which Bobcats could be hitting the portal for the next season isn't one of them.
If we’re talking about who MIGHT hit the portal I see no issue. If we’re saying who SHOULD hit the portal I think that is a bit harsh.

Let’s hope for no Friday night CBS Sports games next year.
Amen.

That's almost like hoping it won't be hot any day in July.

Here's my only real question here: AJ Brown is a point guard? Everything I've see up until now has called him a wing.

EDIT: Instead of adding a post, I'll add this thought: I would argue there's a high probability that there will be two scholarships to give. Should that be the case, it's my opinion that those two have to be used to make this team older via the portal. The need to balance incoming frosh with 3rd and 4th year players is a big deal. Hopefully they use them wisely and find guys that fit what this team needs.

And to me, those needs are pretty obvious: Another capable guard, and a legit wing. As a fellow poster and I discussed Saturday morning, when is the last time this team had a wing that could guard 3-4 positions and was capable of occasionally putting up 15 points on a given hot night? He said it, I just agreed with it.

I guess I was thinking more along the lines of someone like Ricardo Johnson in terms of a wing. In my head, Setty was bigger. That said, he could guard pretty well so I get your angle there.

Fair point, but he's not here now, and Ohio needs a player like him pretty badly IMO.

Do we know any info on 2022-23 games?

- Return games on H/H
- MTE or Tourny
- New games
- In the past few seasons we have tended to play a markee mid major team at home and a true road game at a P5.

They typically don't release non-conference schedules until around the late summer

-Road at Belmont is confirmed.
-Have to imagine a home game with Stetson.
-Home with Bonaventure? I can't believe the 2019 opener at their place was a buy game.

I've wondered about a preseason tourney, also. I know when we went to the Myrtle Beach one a few years back, at the end of our final game they flashed up on the board who was scheduled to play in that tourney the following year. So there's a case of schools knowing a year out that they were playing a tourney event.

Won't know any significant schedule specifics until sometime between September 1-October 30th. Like that every year and the lateness of knowing is always frustrating.

The more I sit back and look at everything that happened since the end of last season, I'm not entirely sure how we won this many games. Preston leaves for the draft. McDay vanishes. Roderick is a shell of himself. Wilson out for the year. And we still have won 25 games (and counting)? If you had told me before the season that all of those things above would happen, I'd expect to see significantly fewer wins.

As for next season, I feel like there's just too many unknowns right now. Even once we find out if BVP returns or not, it seems like we're going to be relying on a lot of new faces so who knows how that could all play out. I'm really excited about the recruits coming in, but...freshmen. How heavily can they be depended on? Will they hit a wall at some point? My gut tells me we'll end up somewhere between a 3-6 seed in the MAC tourney next year. Unless there are significant departures, Toledo/Kent/Akron all should return most of their rosters which were better than ours at the end of the season this year.

It should be an exciting ride.

The consensus amongst this board seems to be leaning towards BVP not returning. That's a huge variable. If he is back, I'm confident we are a very good team next year.

If BVP is gone, we're going to be talented but inexperienced particularly early in the season. I'm confident one of our incoming freshman will be an impact player next year. No clue which one... The biggest x-factor has to be AJ Clayton. He looked good this season, especially considering his age. If he develops well and DW3 returns, we won't miss Carter and/or BVP as much.

Yes, we now have a true rebuild. Maybe a good chance to play the young kids and take a beating for the year.

If BVP, Sears and Granger dip out it'll be a slightly rougher transition. But very excited for the freshman class coming in. Extremely talented and I'm crossing my fingers it tranfers to MACtion. But we could use a few guys from the portal.

The video game dynasty lover in me loves teardowns and rebuilds. I find them much more interesting than stasis, even a winning stasis.

This is what rooting for the baseball team in Cleveland has done to my brain. I have rebuild Stockholm Syndrome.

The optimist in me is telling me that we’ll see a different type of basketball next season. We had three guys this season that were sort of ball stoppers. Sears, Carter, and (to a lesser extent) BVP. They dribbled a lot and occupied the ball a lot on most possessions. Maybe (depending on who comes in) we’ll see more ball movement. Less dribbling, more ball movement/reversals.

I’m trying to convince myself this portal drama could end up being a good thing.

This is where my mind went too, when looking for a positive spin. I hope this leads to more of a "hot potato" offense than what we saw for long stretches last year.

I’m just wondering who the leader or leaders will be going forward. Very little experience left on the team. Anybody’s guess-no clue for me.
