Don't suck and you don't have to rely on officials.

Wanting a fairly called game is not "relying" on officials.

That was terrible regardless of score.

Awful loss... The refs stunk tonight but Ohio can't use them as an excuse. OU has fallen so far as a program!

Hooooo boy!

We showed some pretty serious fight in the handshake line after the game though!

That's a good look.

And, it looks like Kelly may be out for awhile. He's our one promising upwardly mobile player. Woe is us!

If he's done for the year, it might be the only saving grace that keeps him in a Bobcat uniform next season.

Have no clue why he would want to stick around for this shitcapade, which will turn into a lame duck last season in 2026-2027 for Boals. Teams won’t get scared away by a high ankle sprain with seven months to recover.

I think that's why we are likely to see an actual firing. I know that we don't often fire a coach when there is a buyout involved, but the circumstances this year seem to me to indicate an exception is in order. Slade may have to a little creative fundraising, but I just don't see him letting this opportunity to bring in his own many slide. As always, I could be wrong, especially if we beat Miami twice!

If you almost get into a brawl with every team you play, you are the assholes.

I’ve never seen a more mediocre team act like playground bullies. You’d think they were the 1989 Pistons if you watched them between whistles.

At what point is *all* of this a fireable offense? Because I think I'm there. You can't lose to a 7-17 team on the road AND be sore losers after.

Based on what I saw Sun Belt > MAC.

Sheldon + Breath score 30 and we lose.

If I had didn't know team records, I'd assume ODU had the better record of the 2 teams.

Every team in the MAC mailed it in Saturday except the team who had everything to lose.

This university will not dismiss Coach Boals after this season. The former AD didn’t dismiss Bob Bolden after four non winning seasons and three seasons were flat out horrible. Boals will be back next season with his high priced salary thanks to the former AD who is no longer in Athens.

What are you talking about, "almost getting into a brawl with EVERY team you play?" Exaggerate often?

I watched ODU’s coach have pull his team out of the handshake line tonight.

I was in Muncie and sat behind the bench and watched our coaching staff act like buffoons for two and a half hours. Flopping and screaming at officials with every drive into the paint. One assistant who spent the entire game screaming at an official through every time out.

Constantly looking back at the other bench after made shots against St. Bonaventure, with them going on a furious run right afterwards.

All in losses. All with the arrogance of an actual quality team.

Enough with this clown show. This staff and team reminds me of the Dan Dakich teams at BG in the early 2000s. Fake tough guys and mediocre results. Menacing glares galore from a 13-12 team that has never committed a foul and is fouled on every trip.

Unwatchable.

One weekend I sat courtside at a Nebraska-Indiana game and then went to an OU game the next weekend. I marveled at Fred Hoiberg’s demeanor and sense of mastery and then had to sit through unbridled rage and sniping and glares and fake outrage in a way that made me just not want to spend another dollar watching them anytime soon.

I don’t really care about the record that much. I understand the challenges of the job and that this team is what it is. Can we act with a modicum of decency?

Mrs. Albin, please give your husband some emotional support after his stellar 1-11 record this year at UNCC. He had a nice 0-8 record in conference and was last in the league. I assume he will get a big raise next year after all his accomplishments.

This.

Listen I like Coach Boals. Know him well. He's a great guy and a good coach. I don't want him fired, nor do I think it's at that point (yet). Cleveland hasn't happened yet (the only thing that matters). And even if we disappoint there this year (likely) I still give him at least next year to prove himself or put the nail in the coffin next March. That being said, this ROSTER.....just barf. I find myself rooting for the name on the front of the jersey while simultaneously shaking my head and shuddering at the names on the back of the jerseys.

Immature and entitled without any real moxy or talent to back it up. A bunch of wannabe tough guys who keep getting punked on the scoreboard. The type of guys I absolutely loved playing and beating just to shut them up. Only we don't shut up. We double down on stupid and try to fight in the handshake line.

And I'll call it out. Aidan Hadaway and Javan Simmons are the worst offenders.

This team has a few goof balls. Lack of discipline and sportsmanship. Boals hasn't developed the roster and poor leadership by the upperclassmen on the court. This team comes unglued. This team a lot like Juwan Howard teams at Michigan. The poor sportsmanship covers up a poorly coached team. Boals needs to be let go at end of the season along with this staff. They are a bunch of crybabies. Don't like losing then play harder and better. They are a poor defensive team that can't shoot most nites. They don't respect the other team. A bunch of bufoons who are out hustled every nite. Bad fouls. Boals hasn't earned that salary. He is at best middle of the MAC. With all the talent and tradition we have had he hasn't gotten it done lately. Seven years and .500 last two.

Good job by Mike Jones to turn his team around and get them out of there before things escalated.

The week off might be the best thing for us.

So this team isn’t even classy enough to be men and go thru the handshake line? I am hopeful this team can be respectful to the school name on their uniforms, no matter how bad the breaks are or the calls are. I would expect the staff and seniors to set good examples.

It seemed to have started with our coaching staff, and then by the time the line got to Hadaway and Simmons Mike Jones had seen/heard enough.

I still had the TV on after the game, but I guess was distracted or uninterested because I didn't see this fracas on the handshake line. I remember seeing the handshake line start, but I guess I should have kept my eyes on the screen a few seconds longer. If it was really as bad as being described here, I think that's one more reason that we need a coaching change. I can't think of another OHIO basketball coach who wouldn't have disciplined players that acted like that, and probably earlier on in the season for some of the antics on the court.

Watching live I totally missed it. Then after reading all of this, I went back and watched. I could be wrong, but it looked like Barlow got into it first with somebody. Then Jones looked to be having a very good conversation with Captain Chaos and then it looked like Chaos said something to a player and Jones had enough and told his guys to get off the floor.

Regardless…we have seen such a lack of discipline with this basketball team this year in so many different areas. It’s something that this coaching staff has failed to address from day one. I am starting to believe that if Boals closes 1-6 or 2-5 to end the regular season he might need a win in Cleveland to keep his job for another year. Miami’s rise isn’t helping his cause. And let’s be honest….the Ohio Men’s basketball program is currently a shitcapade. Any NIL money coming in right now will be less heading into a Boals lame duck 2026-2027 season. Much less.

If I am Thornton and Barlow, I’m looking to move on after this season.
