A CFA official was recently quoted as saying one's coming to Athens within the next year or so. No location specified. I would guess that the owner of the one in PKB, an Ohio graduate, who posts on here infrequently, probably will be the owner of the Athens franchise.
Yes I assumed we have Chick-fil-A promotions because Chicken George is a proud alum and fan and has seen enough value in the promotions to continue them, and always suspected at least part of the decision was building the brand in anticipation for an Athens location.

In addition to the Cane's that went in, Hot Box Tenders & Tots is on the north end of Court St. Have not had a chance to try it yet. College kids and Americans at large sure do love their tenders.

Having lunch tomorrow at Cane's with a former OHIO basketball player. I can give you a first-hand report after that. Been in a Cane's once before, down South, but this will be my first meal at the new Athens location.

Ohio at Miami flexed to 9PM and the mothership. Glad I got that ticket when I did. Princeton @ Lakota West on Friday was sold out in under a minute. So furious I'm on the outside of that one unless a college venue steps forward.
Lucky days. . . game moved to Cintas Center.

Latest Athens rumor mill says Pizza Cottage location.

There’s a nice wild open space next to Menards that would work but I assume Menards may not want all that traffic….

Anyway Chick Fil A is so 2023…. It’s all Canes now …..

When I was just a wee youth, Buckeye Lake Pizza Cottage was a DESTINATION.

I got their BLT pizza again a few months ago and it's still a delight.

Nothing like a free lunch on a former player right OCF. Billy can supply the shuttle service.

Can confirm this. A lifetime ago I knew the owner through an old girlfriend and even did a Super Bowl party at his house once. I missed the free pizzas as much as I missed the girl when that ended. The BLT pizza slaps still. Had it a couple months ago on a quick stop through the Circleville location.

I would think it's the other way around for Menard's...all that traffic is sure to bleed over into a bump in traffic in their store.

Chick Fil A next to a Menards?

Very convenient. Two places to boycott so close together.

Their point guard missing two late free throws to open the door for a possible Buffalo (who in reality is not very great) win shows the fatigue starting to set in. They could very well lose at Marshall. Or even at home on Friday the 13th.
Redhawks up 41-17 w 3 minutes left in the first half.

Beat me to it, I'm usually the cockeyed optimist, but this OHIO basketball season has taken a major toll on my optimism. I can't see us winning either game against Miami. We have six games remaining -- Miami (away), BSU (home), NIU (away), UT (home), UMass (away) and Miami (home). In my most optimistic view, we finish these games 3-3, that's 16-13 for the season, 10-8 in the MAC. That'll probably get us to Cleveland for a first-round exit. If we only win two of these remaining games, which is certainly possible, we might not even make Cleveland. The Specter of Bandy Ball and Billy Ball seems to be a haunting image at the moment.

I hate to say it, but at this point is it better to hope they run the table in the regular season, so if they crap the bed in Cleveland the conference can possibly sneak 2 teams in?

It better be more than possibly if they're undefeated heading to Cleveland. If they lose in Cleveland, it better be a certainty that they are still getting in, otherwise they possibility of two bids is IMPOSSIBLE.

I have been asking myself this same question. No question it would be better for the MAC for them to go undefeated in the regular season. After thinking about it further I just can’t, under any conditions, root for Miami over the Bobcats.

Another factor that entered into play? October 27, 2012. The 7-0 24th ranked Ohio Bobcats football team was upset by the RedHawks to knock us from the rankings and diminish our feature in Sports Illustrated. I doubt if Miami was concerned about our ranking that day. If we are able to beat them? Touché

No. It's better that they lose to Ohio twice, maybe three times.

3 losses all year, and all to Ohio, would be HILARIOUS

anybody wondering what schools are thinking about making an offer to travis steel? he ,herb sendek and charlie coles have been the best miami coaches. i believe sendek had the best recruits though. guys like wally szerbiac ,devon davis, damon frierson, and jamie mahaffey prove that. how soon would wally have hit the portal if it existed.same with mahaffey cross and frierson. at this point i feel miami has done enough to deserve an at large bid. but you know those selection makers . miami will probably be denied an at large if they lose a game in conference tourney
