I always hate when my team's game time depends on the ending of an earlier game and that game goes into OT. For example, o$u and WVU fans having to wait as OUr game v. St. Bonnie goes an extra 5 minutes.

Oh well. . . couldn't happen to two more deserving fan bases.

Didn’t get to see a second of this one, but excited for MAC play after this result.

Wasn’t able to watch, but nice to have 2 marquee non-conference wins and finish .500 overall once completed. I’ll take 6-6 with this out of conference slate.

The box score says it all ! Balanced contributions & complimentary ball makes this team competitive
in the MAC.... and a return to "familiar" Rocket Arena will help come March !

I was only able to listen to the second half after the conclusion of Navy's gutty win over Army. During the time I was listening it sound like Pavs was putting the team on his shoulders and willing us to victory. I loved the guy last year. This year it's complete adoration. He's one of the best guards I've ever seen in an Ohio uniform, and we've had some good ones in the last decade or so.

Here's my usual petition to have a standing H/H arrangement with Bonnies. We've played a ton over the past 20 years and every game has been super competitive. Good atmosphere at their place and savvy fans. Make it happen; it's a rivalry in my book.

Yeah, there's been some great games between these two teams, including a 4 OT game a few years ago.

Easy trivia: greatest player in St. Bonny history?

Not-so-easy trivia: best former player at St. Bonny and current h.s. basketball coach in the state Ohio?

Look at their message board, they are devastated that they lost to a bad MAC team. Sounds like they’ve given up on the season because of this QUAD 4 loss. They certainly don’t consider us an equal anymore.

Greatest St Bonaventure Player: Bob Lanier.

Interestingly, Lanier was one of four college centers who were arguably the best four to be playing at the same time in college history and, even more interesting, is that three of the four would have been considered on “mid major” teams today. Lew Alcindor (Jabbar), UCLA, Jim McDaniel (Western Kentucky), Artis Gilmore (Jacksonville) and Lanier.

Obviously they are referencing this season but I’d bet they are arrogant about us in general. However, their program is not exactly a buzz saw. Last NCAA win was 2018 in a play-in game; their first win in 48 years. As we all know, we’ve had four tourney wins since 2010, including Sweet 16 in 2012 (a missed FT from beating NC in regulation time and being in the Elite 8). Yeah, they’re real BA.

Go back 10 years and St. Bonaventure was usually a reliable win on the schedule for the Cats and a A10 program that would play Ohio at The Convo. Time will tell if they return to earth.

And, Olean is a nice small city to visit. And with the snow it would be a nice weekend of basketball and Holiday Valley skiing.

Jason Toy said Sheldon passed the ball to Pav in a bad spot on the court on the the court. He also said Pav got "mugged." I didn't watch so am going off the radio broadcast.

Wasn't the four overtime game there the one where we never got into the double bonus in the second half, which would actually be like playing an entire game and not getting into the double bonus.

Good call on Bob Lanier. I'm old so I remember the 1970 tournament. St. Bonaventure got to the Final Four but he was injured in the regional title game and couldn't play against Artis Gilmore and Jacksonville in the semifinals, a matchup that would have been a big deal.

As far as playing a tough schedule obviously someone here thinks the only way you play a tough schedule is play multiple top 25 teams and maybe one or two will come to the Convo...oh, never mind.

You have to wonder if somebody involved with one of these teams is linked to PassTheBall.com? Absolutely ridiculous they had the streaming rights and wanted $17. Then to turn around and have the second game broadcasted on epsn was another slap in the face. Somebody had to be doing somebody a favor for this, Adrian Wojnarowski is their GM so wonder if he had something to do with it.

Bona alum and fan here.

MOST SBU fans have respect for the level of play of top MAC teams like OU, Akron, Kent State and Buffalo. A top MAC team can obviously hang with a top A10 club and real fans of CBB know this.

For whatever reason, our message board has gotten pretty bad over the years with smart and well informed posters ditching the site because it is now overrun by a toxic, never satisfied type of fan.

While you’ll obviously see the dumb comments on our board about your program and the MAC in general, fear not as you’ll get worse takes on our own program! Some think Schmidt is an overrated coach that is the only thing standing between us and annual trips to the NCAAs.

Others think we should drop down to the MAAC so to align us better with like minded schools…odd, I know.

Athens is a great college town and OU has a strong history of basketball excellence. I’d love a H&H with you guys or at the very least a game that rotates between Cleveland, Athens and Olean every once in a while!

Best of luck the rest of the way!

That was the most ridiculous excuse for a website that I've ever seen in quite a while. If you tried to go to PassTheBall.com you were taken to PassThaBall.com and a 404 error. You could then hack your way back to an actual homepage and get to a page that said "Live Events." However, if our game was listed there, it was hidden in a hard to find corner somewhere. I did not actually plan at any time to spent $17 to see this game, I was just curious about this site.

I was also curious to see what this site was after hearing about the ridiculous ask of $17. Apparently its some obscure media company that specializes in what looks like high school girls basketball. They don't even try to advertise themselves as a men's college basketball site so I can't come up with any reason they would be involved with a random game like ours.

I don't think anyone posting on this thread so far was at the game. However, I have a couple of questions for anyone on here that was in Cleveland for last night's doubleheader:

1. When OUr game went into OT and the fans of the second game were getting into their seats, who were they rooting for? Was it sort of like an NCAA first-round site, where the underdog gets fans of the other teams behind them?
2. I imagine o$u and then WVU got the bigger number of fans. Which team in the first game had a bigger contingent of fans?
3. Did Pav get mugged at the end of regulation, where he ended up getting tied up? Toy seemed to think so on the radio broadcast.

I suspect the bad weather last night kept turnout low. It was a small crowd for both games, although much larger for WVU/Ohio St, of course. It was nothing like an NCAA tourney environment, although 2 really great games. To my eyes there were significantly more Bobcat fans, although a decent number of Bonnies made the trip through the snow.

And on #3, yep. I thought it was an awful call. I'm pretty reserved, and I was yelling at the ref. I was not alone. I suspect another official made a bit of a makeup call on the Bonnies in overtime.

Also the biggest shoe size in Bonnie history.

Having been to St. Bonaventure and Olean, I gotta ask why anyone would enroll there. Very unimpressive campus in the middle of nowhere. Athens is Columbus by comparison.
