This is all fluid and indicative on what we have to spend. We saw an uptick last year of over $200K, so I’d hope we’re on par for the average mid-major range of $250-$300k.

Of our current returnees, I’d say really that only Pavs and AJB would require something significant and I’m not even sure I’d call it THAT significant. Given, Pavs has already made his P5 attempt and AJB is now dealing with another shoulder injury.

Elliot has the upside of a high earner, but I think his limited minutes and exposure this season lower that ceiling for one more year.

Concur.

JP is showing he can indeed play this game, but he's already on his 3rd team in 3 years. Nothing would surprise me, but I hope he stays and becomes a MAC POY candidate.

AJB can be so good, but literally cannot stay healthy enough to put it all together.

If we lost anyone, I think it might be Elmore who heads to Cleveland State or something like that. He seems like he's hit a ceiling. Small bursts here and there, but really hasn't developed like I thought he would. He might just be looking for a senior re-start. We also have 42 more guards in the pipeline. Writing on the wall.

Has there ever been a player who people have more divergent opinions on that Pavs?

He's either our most valuable player NIL-wise and has a chance to be first team all MAC next year, or we should bench him. Pretty wild.

I like him a lot offensively, one of the better ball handlers we've had recently IMO. The issue is he is a big liability on defense as he is pretty thin so gets manhandled most of the time.

It's been a while.

There will be quite a few people who are incensed when he's 3rd team this season.

He's no Bruce Bowen, but if he was an all-around great player he wouldn't be here. We need to shore up the defense around him, and try to mitigate some of that, because his offensive game is great.

I think we will need to pay Elliot to keep him from getting poached. The upside definitely flashed this year and I'm expecting a big leap in his sophomore season.

After next season, perhaps. This portal season -- no one is actively poaching a player based on flash at 15mpg. Unless Elliot has a desire to go back and play closer to home or more of a direct path to starter minutes, I just don't see it.

We get ahead of ourselves every March, thinking the rest of the NCAA is going to overvalue our roster and it never does.

BVP's and Sears' bodies of work are what attracts suitors.

Yeah, this is where I'm at, too. We're a (basically) .500 team in the 23rd ranked conference in the country. If Elliott were to breakout in a high profile game (MAC Championship or NCAA Tournament) I could see it, but I think most P5 schools are using their NIL money to buy production not potential at this point.

Totally agree. We should be safe with E2 for one more season, but if want a third season, it's going to cost some money. As it pertains to next season, watching the growth of E2 from his freshman year to his sophomore year is going to be fun to watch. I expect he'll be firing up a million shots a day in the off-season and I think you'll see him become more consistent from the outside moving forward.

Hope I'm wrong and that Elliot enjoyed his first year here. Would be nice if we could make a run in Cleveland to help with the disappointing results overall.
