Campbell is still pretty smooth under the basketball and can knock down the 3. Not sure who all watched last year and this year but with this years team, you could definitely tell they had an actual coach.
I was there in person... pretty brutal to watch. Like you said it was pretty clear they didn't have a strong coach to react to what Zip Em' Up were dong. They basically walked all over them.

Man Ryan Taylor is exactly the type of the player this program needed and it royally sucks Ohio couldn't hang onto him.

Ryan Taylor would have been First Team All-MAC for at least 2 years! I also found myself thinking: how would the trajectory of the program have changed if Big Tone would not have gotten injured his senior season. We were 3-0 in the MAC and still finished 20-11 and nearly beat Kent in the semifinals. Without the sour tasted of how it ended with Jaaron muffling the end against Kent maybe he stays if we win a MAC title.

A starting lineup of Jaaron, RT, Tony, Dartis and Jason Carter would have been so damn good.

I do like the TBT endings, but what I don't fully understand is how that final score number is determined? Anybody here know? Is it generated somehow technically, or just determined by a person(s) at the game?

The Elam ending is fine for things like TBT, Pro-Am stuff, and other gimmicks, but for basketball that really truly matters, I'm taking a clock counting down to zero 10 times out of 10. I don't want my basketball to be devoid of the need for a half court buzzer beater attempt.

I believe they add 8 points to the highest score and who ever reaches that is the winner. Don't fact check that though lol

With the current rules, most games end by having the team behind grind the pace to a halt by fouling the oposing team and chucking the ball with the hopes of catching up, which they almost never do.
The last 30 seconds are more often than not one team just standing there with the ball waiting for the game to end if there's no chance for the team behind to catch up.

With thr Elam ending, all games end with a basket (exciting), the team behind has a much better chance at coming back (exciting) and there's no game pace haunting free throw/fouling bonanza (boring). Sure you lose the very very slight chance of seeing the iconic end game buzzer beater, but I'd trade the less than 1 out of 100 times buzzer beater to not see the foul & free throw snoozefest the other 99 times.

The game clock gets turned off at the first deadball under 4 min (shot clock still active) and yes it's determined by adding 8 points to the leading team's score.

The reason why it's 8 points and not something like 10 or 5 is that on average both teams score around 8 points in the last 4 minutes of a game, so you don't theoretically "lose any basketball" by taking out the game clock at the end

Agree with this. My favorite thing about baseball and the biggest reason I am a baseball supremacist is the lack of a game clock. I hate how most all other major team sports are slaves to the clock and the final parts of the game are a totally different approach from the rest of the game.

Unfortunately, it looks like after this year's trial in the Minors, "Pitch Clocks"
will be coming the Majors.

Also looks like ,in the near future, computers will be calling "balls and strikes".

Honestly, and I preface this with I grew up with and love baseball, if the umpires can't get things right then they should be replaced. Games being decided by umpiring mistakes and these mistakes leading to players and managers being ejected from games, IMO, shouldn't still be a thing. When we have the ability to get it right, should we not get it right? Or should Angel Hernandez continue to be horrible at his job and decide games?

A pitch clock would be entirely different from a game clock. I am 100% OK with a pitch clock. It doesn't ultimately change the game except for making a pitcher not stand there like a statute or a better step out of the box and fidget with his batting gloves. Baseball will never have a game clock.

In fact a perfect example of this is what started this conversation - Basketball. I think we all want the shot clock at the end of the game, it is the game clock that makes the style of play stupid and not entertaining.

Pretty cool to watch. Mike Laster rebounding for him as well.

Didn't realize he's played the last 3 years in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors and averaged around 9 points per game.

Also had quite the college career...

14-15 Ohio - 8.1ppg (started all but 2 games)
16-17 Evansville - 14.1ppg (started all but 1)
17-18 Evansville - 21.3ppg (started all but 1)
18-19 Northwestern - 9.8ppg (started all games)

I agree 110%. While we are at it, can we fire every player who makes a mistake that costs games?

MLB has always had a rule about time between pitches (as does all baseball rules books), they just choose not to enforce for 150 years.

Blue Collar U called a timeout when they got within 2 pts of the target score. That allowed some players on the bench to change into Puma shoes and sub in for the bonus $ from the shoe company to any player who scores the Elam Ending bucket while wearing Puma shoes. I believe the announcer said it was $10,000. Montell McCrae, one of those subs, went to the line for 2 FT, missed the first and hit the second. His dunk on their next possession was the game winner.

Wow, congratulations to the former bulls, it looks like Nate Oats was in attendance. Oats has to be the best MAC recruiter ever. Here is an article about their victory and how they will split the money.

Having been to a number of minor league games this year, I absolutely love the pitch clock. Players stay in the box for the most part and the flow of the game is so smooth. I'm so very hopeful a version of it (likely different than that at the minor leagues of 14 seconds/18 seconds with someone on) comes to the big leagues next year.
