Anybody on BobcatAttack have the skinny on where, if anywhere, Lebron is headed?

Easy.  I got this.

If it's anywhere but Cleveland, then it's called banishment, death, hell.  This decision circus is light years past overdone.  If he signs anywhere but Cleveland then I instantly switch to being the biggest Kobe Bryant fan ever.

I might actually stop watching the NBA entirely if he leaves Cleveland.

I guess not. Although Miami votes have been coming in since LeBron's announcement.

In hindsight isn't it obvious where LBJ would end up getting dragged?

Nobody on Earth can escape how much M%^&i sucks.

I'm with Monroe on this one. Overnight I've gone from hating Kobe, Howard, and everyone on the Celtics to rooting for all of them. Whoever plays Dwayne Wade and his supporting cast is now my favorite team.
Lebron would've been a perfect fit for the Zips.

I can not understand why wanting to be on a winning team is such a bad thing. People think it is so bad that he did not stay there. Almost anyone would want to upgrade their job to be better instead of just grinding it out everyday. Any of you complaining about his move stay at the frist job you had  instead of going to a better place to work if given the chance ?

To me, its not so much that LBJ left Cleveland to win a championship; its the way he did it.

My thoughts exactly. I don't get all the hate. Athletes move around all the time. Gilbert would dump anyone, trade anyone, or accept any free agent if he thought it would help him win. I guess Gilbert will never take another free agent because that free agent will be leaving another team. He wouldn't want to upset the other team's owner. I agree LeBron went about it all the wrong way, but I don't see the big deal about him moving to give himself a better chance to win a championship. He did much more for Cleveland than Cleveland did for him. Sure, the Cavs paid him and the fans loved him, but that's nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm curious.  Are you guys who think Game 5 leaving people who grew up in or spent time in Cleveland?

I'm betthing that you're not and that you don't know the economics and psyche of the city.

You don't know how unique the situation with the city and the Quitter was.  You don't understand how dependent the city was on Game 5--how much of an emotional and financial lynch pin he was.

For instance, do you know the story of how the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame came to be located in Cleveland?

I did not grow up in Cleveland. Neither did LeBron. I don't feel that LeBron should be held responsible for the financial well being of the city. That is ridiculous.  He is not the mayor of Cleveland or the governor of Ohio. Cleveland had it great while he was there. That does not obligate him to stay forever.

Game 5 did grew up in Northeastern Ohio, functionally in Cleveland.

You didn't grow up there so you probably don't get it.

Were you excited when the Bobcats beat Georgetown a few months back?  Was the 'OHIO nation' excited by that?  Well, this is a trillion times more important (psyche, financially) to the city of Cleveland.

I heard sports radio say a few weeks back that Cavs attendance would fall from sellout (22k ?) to about 13k a game.  Wouldn't surprise me if actual attendance is 5-8k, more so when the team conducts the likely fire sale.

When The Tribe starting balling in the 90's downtown Cleveland got a real boost.  Then Game 5 came and Cleveland had a reason to feel good and that brought a lot of national spotlight.  I'm guessing that downtown Cleveland and the city overall take a real hit now.

No doubt the guy has a right to play where ever he chooses.

But some people show grace and class and appreciation.

Others quit in Game 5.

Mark me as very disappointed.  The only good thing I can say is that he did not go to the NYC metro area.  I really thought from previous statements that LJ really had a passion for the Cleveland area and that the Almighty $$ was not on the top of his priority list.  I guess I misjudged the man.  Now, I'm with Monroe, and I don't really care what happens in that league.  I'll just root for the NBA Turkey of the month -- and there are certainly a lot of them these days!

Doesn't Game 5 have tattoos to the effect of 'Pride' and 'Loyalty' prominently on his skin.  Well, the true character comes thru despite the ink on top.

You know who I suddenly realize that I have a lot more respect for?  Mo Williams.  I didn't think he was that good in the 2009 playoffs.  And he's too small in my mind to be effective in the gruel of the playoffs.  But he had some great games in 2010's playoffs.  In the final loss to Boston, wasn't it Mo who had a terrific first half, keeping the Cavs close?  That's a guy who played.  That's a guy who I respect.

You didn't grow up in Athens.  You went to college there.  But, I hate to tell ya, O-H-I-O is a lot less likely than Ohio State to win national titles in hoops and football?  So, why do most of you not root for Ohio State and all of you root so fervently for the Bobcats?  Maybe there is something to be said for loyalty no matter the circumtances (and remember that there is no reason to think that the Quitter could not have won a title in Cleveland).

This isn’t about rights. Nobody is arguing that Lebron doesn’t have the right to play where he wants. Of course he does. What he did was selfish. And yes, he has the right to be selfish, too.

I think in the end, the person hurt most by this will be Lebron. He had the opportunity to go down in history as an icon- somebody who demonstrated loyalty instead of giving lip service to it. Somebody who fought through adversity and challenges and delivered something special to his hometown and those who have supported him through his life. Even (and maybe especially) if he wins 6 championships in Miami, I think his legacy takes a big hit. Does winning really mean that much when you abandon the guys you’ve always been with and form a new team with the big kids on the playground? Not to me. Where’s the challenge? What are you playing for, besides yourself and winning for the sake of winning? Is that really what it’s about? For the sake of winning for himself, he turned his back on greater things.

I am puzzled when you say Cleveland is LeBron's hometown. I didn't realize it but using that logic I guess Cincinnati is my hometown since I grew up in Dayton. I am from southwestern Ohio just like LeBron is from northeastern Ohio, but I feel no special allegiance to Cincinnati just because I grew up in Dayton.

Some of you might not realize but, when Lebron was in High School, he played some high school games at Cleveland State because the gym at Akron St. Vincent St. Marys was not big enough to hold the crowds.  People of Cleveland became to know Lebron and supported him when he was in High School. He was one of their own. Then when Cleveland had a chance to pick one of their own, in the NBA Draft, They did so with the 1st pick,  Lebron played alot of high school games in Cleveland over his high school career,  so it's not like he just went there when he was drafted.

What is silly to me in all this is his comment that "it's all about winning". The Cavs won over 60 games the last few years and the most in the NBA. Isn't that winning?

What he is admitting is that he can't handle the pressure of being "the guy". Please do not mention him in the same breath as Russel, Magic, Bird, Jordan and Kobe, players who won many times and elevated the games of their teammates. He is obviously not that type of player and will seek the comfort of playing second banana to Wade and Bosh.

True.

You could see that he was grim throughout all of last season.  No joy at all.

Life is tough when you are 100% catered to.

None of us would want that or could handle it.

Game 5; he quit.

Magic Johnson:  'Hey Larry!  It's Magic!  What's up?"
Larry Bird: "Hey Erv!  How's it goin?!"
Magic: "Not so good.  There's this new kid... Michael Jordan.  We aren't going to be able to win championships by ourselves when he gets good you know?"
Larry: "No kidding.  The guy is a freak!  I'm afraid my Legacy is going to me tarnished if we don't do something about it"
Magic:  "Let's make a super-team!"
Larry: "Awesome!  I'll call Isaiah!"

Give LeBron Kareem and Worthy and he would win a few championships. Give him Parrish and McHale and he would win a few. Kobe won his last two with a much better supporting cast, and Shaq really was the dominant player in his first three. Russell was a center, so it's hard to compare them (it's hard to compare anybody to Russell). LeBron has never even had a Pippen.
