Jay had a similar game last night. 7 points, 4 assists, 3 boards...4 more turnovers. I have to think if he doesn't step up and stand out a bit over the last few games, he will be headed to the G League.
I truly think the signing of Wall makes the G-League inevitable for Preston. I'll gladly eat crow and buy a jersey if I'm wrong...

This was a very ugly game tonight. I can't imagine teams would make roster decisions based on this $#!t s#ow. Ugly, selfish basketball. A few of these guys are volume shooters but get the plaudits even though they shot 25% from the field and multiple turnovers.

It's absolutely criminal what the Clippers allow Scrubb and Boston to do during these summer ball games. It's atrocious....a combined 7-27 last night. These games won't affect JP status heading into camp.

I agree -- it makes you appreciate Jeff Boals and what he was able to do with JP for a couple of years playing unselfish, team-oriented basketball that still allowed JP to assert himself and be shown but also with a team concept behind him.

I watch to see JP play and then turn the channel when the bench guys come in. Even guys like Holmgren and Banchero are ok to watch in Summer League but you have to take it with a grain of salt because in a few months Holmgren will be matched up against guys like Giannis. I cannot wait for the first time Robin Lopez plants Holmgren into the third row and just smiles when the Thunder play the Cavs.

Some of these summer league games are legit, but others are a complete waste.

Are we really that shocked that summer league games would be this way? All these guys are trying to get in the show, so it's not surprising that some would try to take advantage for every opportunity they get (even if it is the bad basketball play). Who knows what kind of scouting their team is doing. Some may want a team-oriented pass first guy, some may want someone who is super aggressive and looks to get a bucket.

Jay has not been in the game and it's second quarter. I can't tell if he's on the bench, but I don't see him.

He is out for health and safety protocols (Covid).

I'm not afraid that JP can make an impact with John Wall being signed. JW has been an injury plagued player for a few years now, and from what I've seen, JP has major promise at the NBA level. Maybe not a starting guy now but a great rotation player. Also, I have another excuse to post this masterpiece:

I miss Charlie.
Definitely. That clip is a gem.

Yep,we all do. Charlie is the best thing ever to be associated with Miami since William Holmes McGuffey left Miami, and after short stint in Cincinnati, came to The OHIO University!

The Clippers waived Jay Scrubb today. Apparently he refused to sign a two-way contract. The Clippers had already designated second round pick Moussa Diabate one of their two-way spots, so that tells me Jason was ahead of Scrubb in their pecking order. I don't know what that will mean for Jason going forward, but it does give a sense of where they had him valued.

Good riddance to Scrubb. Dude took 857 shots in 5 NBA Summer League games and I think he made 3 shots.

Barring injury to Jackson or Wall, Preston will spend considerable time this season playing in the G-League. And that's okay. Better for his development.

The weird thing is that Wall said in a recent interview that he wasn’t injured last year but they didn’t play him to let the new guys develop. Something doesn’t add up. Lost a step because of injury, bad influence in the locker room, or…? If his sitting was based on performance issues, gotta think J.P. gets some run over the long season.

Just now flipping thru channels and seeing start of 2nd half of Clippers v. Maccabi exhibition game on NBATV. JP getting 2nd half start with announcers saying this is one of Clippers' deepest rosters ever.

Graphic states "Only NCAA player to avg 15 pts, 7 reb and 7 assists"

Color commentator and former Bobcat asst. coach Fran Fraschilla had nice compliments for JP. Clippers are giving him a long look, playing him a team-high 30 minutes. Hit only 1 of 4 from the floor for 4 pts., but finished with 9 boards and game-high 10 assists. His one basket started with JP driving to the bucket, kicking it out to a teammate, then getting the ball back after sprinting out to the corner for the 3 pointer. Franny, after that play, said that the possession showed JP's strengths - getting to the basket, moving without the basketball and hitting the open 3.

Held out because of groin. Doesn't appear to be serious.

I hope he's not another Taylor Price.
