Hosting an MTE with Eastern Illinois and Alabama State. Both were pretty awful last season.

Not having good vibes about the schedule. I know we know very little up to this point, but ugh with this group of teams. Are we really going to go two straight years without playing in a destination November/December tournament?
More I think about it...this is so disappointing. Alabama State was 9-21 last year. Eastern Illinois was 5-26. These two were probably at bottom of NET ranks. I know we have nine new players, but damn, this accomplishes nothing. People can't be that afraid of playing us this year. Last year, ok, with teams being scared of Preston possibly coming back...I get it. But not this year. And I can already hear Boals saying it's impossible for us to get games, but I'm not buying it this year. Schedule has to get better

Yea, these two teams + Stetson combined for the same number of wins we had last season. Fingers crossed that’s it for cupcakes. I would have preferred to participate in another school’s MTE with a more competitive field than host one as it currently stands.

Very likely the case that we are looking for one more team to join it.
Agreed. Hopefully a more impressive team.
If memory serves these MTE's need to be 4 total teams in order to qualify you for having that 31st game on your schedule. Maybe I'm wrong. It seems kind of ridiculous actually. I think that it is because they first started giving teams that played in one of the handful of made for TV preseason tournaments that existed 30 years ago (NIT, Alaska Shootout, Maui) one game extra and teams complained that everyone should have an avenue.

That’s correct. So, we’ll see another team added.

I will hold my breath on what i think of this. if we play this tourney and dont play a division 2 team and one of these games takes the place of the one awful team we always bring in from the MEAC or somewhere. this could be a push or a upgrade.
