Not too bad for the day after Halloween against Wooster...  We could have a great crowd for the opener against Delaware.

The number was half that, 1,217, for the exhibition opener last year.

Considering all the factors involved, I agree the attendance for Wooster was not bad.

Long-time lurker here but I'm going to jump in and get my feet wet now that are native son has shown up in a Bobcat uniform. I'm not sure if the computer adds 10 pounds but Ethan looks to have put on about 20 to 25. Looks like there are a lot of very talented players in the underclass for Ohio. The number 2581 seems a little bit low but we only had 5500 at Hinkle Fieldhouse for a scrimmage with Butler and a Florida Southern squad chock-full of native Hoosiers. The arena at Ohio seems to be one of the larger arenas I've seen in a MAC school. I am looking forward to getting down to Southeast Ohio to see Ethan play. Our own Derek Elston played last year at IU so we got to see him couple of times at Canseco and at Assembly Hall.

Just wanted to chime in and ask a couple questions about attendance and thank those folks who are responsible for getting us a good feed. Wanted to get over there and see our boy Ethan play just as we did Derek last year. Good luck to the obcats we will be watching.

Welcome!

You'd be correct in thinking it is one of the larger arenas you've seen at a MAC school, because it is in fact the largest at a MAC school, seating 13,080.  I only wish I'd ever seen it full once the past three years I've been here.  Ball State's Worthern Arena, if you've been, is the second largest with a capacity of 11,500.

Hope you're able to make the trek to Athens sometime -- you won't regret the trip.

Thank you for the welcome anorris. I have been to the Ball State gymnasiums many of time. I have seen games in the current Worthen Stadium, the now gone Irving gym and back in my day they played at old Ball Gym but then I'd venture to say there's not a whole a lot of gyms in Indiana I haven't at least poked my head inside. I have followed Indiana boys basketball for many years and I do look forward to our first trip to Athens Ohio.

Tipton, welcome.  Let us know when you're coming and we'll try to have a bobcatattack.com welcome for you in Athens.
We're glad to have Ethan on the squad.

Let me add my welcome to the others, Tipton.  I see a great future for Ethan at Ohio.  In my memory we've had two other players with his height (true high, not that "official" height of 6'10") and Ethan is by far the most coordinated as a freshman.  The other two were projects who did improve as they matured.  Ethan is agile, coordinated and seems to have a high basketball IQ.  I think he'll be a real key to our success this year and in the future.  Go OHIO!
