As long as it works out with the schedule having this event during homecoming is great. From reading the press release on the website it sounds like there is more of a set schedule for it this year and they are going to try and make it no longer than one hour. If they can keep it short and keep fans excited, it should work out real well this year.

Quick recap:
Started out with the lights going out and another Emmy award winning video highlighting last season. Both teams then came out and warmed up on opposite ends while each player gets introduced via the video board. There were then the usual competitions, 3 points, skills challenge, and coaches FT contest. In between the contests there was a Ms. Bobcat competition if that's what you would call it. One note is that there are now 3 walk ons on the men's side. Tunji and D Mac are back and the team has added a walk on transfer from North Texas. Nick Goff would probably have to sit out due to transfer rules but not 100% sure on that since he is walking on. He is from Columbus and was a teammate of Nick Kellogg's.

So who won all the skills contests? Any sweet dunks out there? Any of the freshmen standout?

Washington was absolutely throwing down as expected! Baltic looked good there too...
Both Freeman and Cooper dunked!
Jacobs really can hit 3's. He was mobile too, and also a pretty exciting dunker...
I thought TJ Hall played pretty well in the scrimmage. As a team, we really moved the ball around well.

Good thing they held it in the Convo, wouldn't want a coach getting hurt trying to shoot free throws uptown!

Jason Arkley
has all the stats as he live tweeted during the event:
A couple folks on hand for the debut. What I don't understand is why wasn't this incorporated with the 'Yell Like Hell' pep rally
Chunk of folks across the street at Peden for the pep rally, and some in the Convo. Should all be in the same place...
Bon Jovi on the DJ remix right now...followed by G-n-R...and then Def Leppard. Did I go to high school with this guy?
Men and women on the floor warming up following intro video. Video started with iconic dunk from D.Washington (from Cooper) vs. G'town.
New face on the Ohio men's roster. Wears No. 2, not on the listed roster, not introduces in the pre-game. Looks like a walk on
No. 2, looks to be about 6-1-ish. A guard. Even the folks in the SID office know nothing.
Everyone else on the listed roster is here. Alex Kellogg, of course, announced yesterday he was leaving the program.
'Ms. Bobcat' contest underway...three entries. I have dubbed them 'Suspenders' 'Belt' and 'Tail' (it's what they're wearing)
3-pt shooting, men vs. women
Cooper beat, 7-5, by Carolyn Barnett
Tommy Freeman beats Erin Bailes, 8-5
Big man Ethan Jacobs hits 5-12 from 3. Loses to Ashley Fowler though 7-5
Total them up, Ohio women beat the Ohio men 19-18 in 3-point shooting.
One word to describe this event so far...awkward. Yeah, let's go with awkward.
Word in on the new guy on the Ohio roster. Nick Goff, transfer from North Texas. Walkon sophomore.
Goff, I presume, would be inelgible to play this season (transfer rules). HS teammate Ohio frosh Nick Kellogg.
Tie in round two of the skills challenge.
Fullcourt dribble, pass, and spot up 3 against the clock. TJ Halls made his attempt, Nick Kellogg missed.
This just in...John Groce jumps when shooting free throws.
Ms. Bobcat trivia contest...and the winner is Lisa Kirk. Meet your new Ms. Bobcat everybody! (aka Belt)
Head coach free throw shooting contest. Jump-shooting John Groce beats Semeka Randall 9-4.
Rufus is here. And no, he did not attack anybody
Yes! Love Semeka Randall. "I'll be honest, we dont get much support for the women's games. I got one thing to say..."
"Step up. Step up. Step up! Step up!" Coach Randall is refreshing honest, either in person or on the mic.
And Hardwood Hysteria is over. Coach Groce diving into the team's first practice. Folks are welcome to stay "for the first 20 minutes
Didn't mention this earlier, but I'm digging the new logo at center court at the Convo. Much bigger, sharper. Whole floor looks very nice
Havent been able to watch a full Groce practice yet (now year 3). But I do like the way he directs it.
Uptempo. Lots of quick, changing segments. Competitive edge in everything they do. And lots of work on defensive fundamentals
And Groce is very hands on. Definitely not the CEO type. Assistants have plenty of imput, ect, but Groce is in the middle of most things

Did make it to HH Friday night. Most info already covered. A lot of fun seeing everyone on the court again. The only thing I have to add is that Ethan Jacobs is a lot more solid physically than I expected. Fairly big upper body. Smooth stroke.
