It's the defense, leadership, pick 'n roll play on offense and defense, and all round sense of where to be and what to do on the floor. It's not impossible to replace. But it will take time.
That little chip pick that got Tommy space to destroy redhawk with the three-ball was no accident.
I agree that what KvK provided is going to be tough to replace. He provided a lot of subtleties that aren't easy to learn. It took KvK a while to become what he was last year. I can see Ivo providing some of that but it's not something that he's going to become proficient at overnight.
As for Saturday afternoon, it looked like Groce was doing a lot of experimenting and it made for an uneven game. By the end of last year it looked like everyone knew exactly where the other players on the court would be and where they liked the ball delivered. Not so much on Saturday. For what it's worth I really liked what I saw from Kellogg, Hall and Johnson. They can contribute immediately and don't look like they are in over their heads like some other freshman (Sayles, King). I think Jacobs is a project, particularly on defense, but I also think he'll be very good by the time he's done here. This is a very good class.
