My take:
After that horrendous foul call and our coach's displeasure with it (along with everyone else's), the ball eventually came back to OHIO after the Valpo player made 2 free throws. There was a substitution, and the ref who made that call, was now holding the ball at half court on the student side, ready to give it to an OHIO player. I was watching him closely and his eyes never left Groce. Eventually he gave the ball to our player and the game continued, but the ref kept staring at Groce, even when the game resumed, not once watching game play. He was determined to 't-up' the coach and wasn't going to let refereeing the game interfere with his opportunity, even though the coach was more subdued by then. I thought that was cheap and unprofessional. It cost us the ball, and a possible 4-5 point turnaround which could have been the play that cost us the game.
