According to ESPN.com our shooting % ranks 220th overall in D1 college basketball. We need to start hitting some shots.

I believe that.

We shot 18 more times than Oakland.  We made the same number.

I haven't looked but my guess is our shooting percentage is a by-product of our freshman adapting to the higher level.  They are used to being the BMOC and it's quite a system shock to get used to the bigger and quicker defenders.  Ricardo Johnson and Nick Kellogg had layups blocked about a minute apart and you could tell it surprised them.  I think DJ started the same way last year.  One thing I took away from the first two games was that the freshman aren't great moving without the ball yet.  They aren't finding the passing lanes yet. It'll come.

IMO, no pattern has emerged for this ball club yet.  Hopefully, we will see more positives vs. Corpus Christi.

No I wouldn't say it is not useful, I think it just shows that we haven't shot well through our first 2 games. I was just posting a fact that I saw while on espn.com.  I'm not saying that this is a trend our time will keep up or anything.

While shots in the post are higher percentage shots generally than jumpers, those guys were a big part of the low shooting percentage against Oakland.

That would require Baltic and Washington actually playing inside.  And if you think Devaughn is going to suddenly start posting people up, I have some bridge to sell you...

Jeff's right, it's a small sample size.  But it's also a concern.

Washington and Baltic each showed some good post moves tonight.  Devo missed a few that he should have made but got to the foul line quite a bit as well.
