Says the guy who doesn't bother to learn player names or put newspaper articles into context. Forgive me if I don't run to the local casino to cash in on Santa Clara tonight.

Santa Clara plays at a medium pace (71 possessions/40), is a good offensive team (1.079 points per offensive possession, 52nd nationally) and a poor defensive team (1.074 points per defensive possession, 284th nationally).  I think we're going to see a high-scoring affair.

Ohio is a 1.5 point favorite.  I have to think had we only lost by about 16 last night...We would be more like 12 point favorites.

With Tommy likely out for today, I think it gives us even more reason to kepe the game high pace with a lot of driving and feeding the big guys in the paint.  Devo needs to play 10 times better than last night, and we need to come out with swagger.  Attack the basket and be thankful the guys trying to stop you tonight don't have a Jayhawk on their jersey.

"Here's what they should do, and you might want to suggest this," said Coles, coach of the Miami University men's basketball team that plays third-ranked Ohio State in Value City Arena. "Get another team. Bring them in. Ohio State plays them. Give us tickets to the Michigan-Ohio State football game. We'll root for Ohio State. Then we'll leave town."

is that better for you? I know matta and coles go way back but man have some pride for your school as well.
And i dont care to learn there names because they go to Miami is it really that important to know anything other than that?

And i say that we will lose by double digits because i always believe its going to be a close game and that we can hang and i always say it will be close. Then we lose by 57 points.......so i figure maybe if i say we will get stomped we might win. Who knows?

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night, why would Tommy be out?

He got run over pretty hard while taking a charge and did not return.  I would guess with the quick turnaround of today's game, they'll sit him out and make sure his melon is OK...But I'm not certain.

I'm suprised Vegas is putting us as  favorites against Santa Clara. Apparently they haven't seen us play. Based on our 5 games this year and the possibility of Freeman out I would doubt that we could be a favorite vs a mid WCC team. Santa Clara is better than any team in the MAC. Thats the difference between mid level WCC and the MAC.  Even with Freeman we should be underdogs.  We are only on the road for the second time this year. I don't think our freshmen are ready for that.  The rest of the team didn't look ready for that either.  The good news from the situation is that Kellogg and Hall will get some playing time.  They are getting a taste of what big time basketball is. Kansas showed how overmatched a MAC team is and Santa Clara will be more of a test like Oakland and Valpo were.  We are also learning about playing short handed without Freeman and perhaps Johnson.  Sometimes these games let Groce find out what he team is really like and how they respond. They didn't rspond well last nite, but tonite they get a chance to show that the real Ohio team is much better than what they showed last nite.  This team has a lot of fight but they lack composure. Last year Bassett was an experience guard who help keep us cool. Cooper is just a sophmore and our youth has shown.  Against Valpo it was the seniors.  who stepped up. The under classmen will need to step up more.

Santa clara is a good team from a Good conference. No doubt a better conference than the MAC. If we win this I will be very surprised. If it were later in the year I would have more confidence but after last night its hard to say. hope we can do it. Go Bobcats!

Any free way to watch this game?

Solid win. Good way to rebound form last night's blowout. Cooper was huge, and Kellogg had a nice game and a clutch shot.

He actually came back in for a minute or two but then when he came back out he hung his head pretty dramatically at the end of the bench and never came back in.  You could tell he was hurting.

The teacher in me loved seeing the correct spelling of the highlighted word above. Perhaps the first correct spelling of this word ("o", not "oo") on this board in several weeks. Still, why upper case?
