Ive been reading this forum for about 3 years now, and Bobcat Dragon, you come off as an elitist who believes he knows all the insides and outs of the basketball team because you may have attended a  practice once or twice or overheard something from one of the water boys. Arent you the one who always claim s to have "inside information", but then refuses to go into detail?  Everything isnt as simple as you think and I am quite sick and tired of reading posts from you dissing the team and coach Groce in particular...not saying you have to agree with everything he is doing, but you seem to just be looking for things to nit pick over....how bout you just  STAND UP AND CHEER instead of always creating controversies....Although im sure you probably think you would make a much better coach than Groce....although it will be pretty hard for the players to take you serious with all that face paint.

bobcat boy (I am showing my lack of respect for you with my lack of caps).  I have read what you have to say about sports for about two years now, and I have to say I tried to give you a chance, but you are really just awful.  That is the best way to put it.  Being a true loyal sports fan I can't stand your lack of loyalty to your home cities teams and your obsession to a team (the spurs) that you seem to have no real link to annoys the F@#$ out of me.  9 of every 10 posts you make are negative and thats not what a true fan does.  Lets clear the air and play a lil 1 v1 b ball, beers on me after?

He hasn't been positive since him and O'Shea quit having midweek lunches at the Maplewood.

Slow down guys...Group hug time.  Let's be honest...Dragon (and for that matter Wanamaker) are both absolutely elitists.  But we all have our quirks, and some come thru better than others in a message board format.  But they both support Ohio athletics as much as anyone, and have a lot of worthwhile things to say.

Some of you are acting like Dragon said a lot worse things than he did.  I think there is a difference of how people are viewing the lack of effort comments.  Correct me if I am wrong Dragon, but I think he was referring to playing with a bit more tenacity and hard nosed hustle, not taking things for granted.  Others took the lack of effort comments as though he thinks the players just don't care...and I don't think that is what he meant.  To me, there is a difference.

All I ask for is examples of this lack of effort, he gave a canned statement with no supporting evidence, and against Valpo the numbers do not support any lack of evidence.  We will give up a lot of points due to the style and pace of play not because of a lack of effort night in and night out.

No problem with that since they are true Bobcat fans and decent guys.

I am somewhat concerned however with JC's new avatar....but I'm sure there's a logical explanation.

You get annoyed by weird things.  Why do you care what pro teams I root for, and why do you feel like I'm obligated to root for the teams of a city I do not like?

No, they're not.

It's true, I'm an unapologetic elitist.  But I'll say that I don't know everything about basketball and don't pretend to.  Clear?

I'm not, I promise.  You can ask my friends, I was annoyed during the game at what I saw as a lack of sufficient effort.  If you disagree, that's fine.  I like talking basketball and breaking it down.  (shrugs)

I can assure you I do this.  How exactly can I create a controversy?  I'm just a guy on a message board.

Without a doubt.  Why won't Schaus give me a chance?  And hey, painting up worked for Bruce Pearl.

Time to hack through the rhetoric.

Elitist= someone who writes in complete sentences and doesn't agree with your point of view.

I'd like to quote this to let the stupidity hang out in the sunshine.

No three-bean dip and five meat platter at a tailgate fixes stupid.

Reminds me of ’82 when the Cats lost to Northern Ill at home in a very lethargic game.  Squared and I had an after hours party that night.  At 6:00 am a couple of us went down Richmond to see the team off to Chicago for a game against DePaul.  One of our friends (the most enthusiastic, and pretty knowledgeable fan of our day) got on the team bus and called out the team (except Devereaux) for effort – including boxing out and helping on defense.  We knew the players, so it wasn’t as awkward as it sounds.  Players said they laughed at him all the way to Chicago – like our friend had a clue what it was really like - what a fool.  Ah, fun times of being a fan.

Cue the "I didn't go to school but I worked my way to owning my own company and hanging out with basketball players that only share my views of the players" rant.

You've been away from Athens for far too long. It's Richland. Yet, good memories.

These kids, and most kids, want to play and give it their all. What sometimes happens, is that they don't really know how far they can push themselves. That is why we have coaches.

Richmond, Richland, didn't matter that morning - it was so cold that morning and there was so much frost on the car - I had one little area to see - it was like driving a tank...drunk.
