The last day or so has made me do some thinking and reexamining about things, this board included.  The mood has been a bit tense and heated, and that is partially my fault.  The fall was stressful for me, and I turned to here to vent, and that was wrong, and it kept going.  I started to feel persecuted and lashed out.  I overreacted to replies to me as well as to what our athletes were doing.  I crossed lines in my language.

Specifically to Ohio69 and Alan Swank, I'm sorry.  I'm going to be better about listening and not taking things personally.  And hey, maybe I'll start to enjoy the games while I still can.

Dragon, a very nice gesture indeed! I get the "business digest" faxed to me every morning from Hugh Sherman, the dean of our business school. There is always a quote and here is today's:

Bobcat Dragon.  No worries mate.  I argue passionately about stuff like this with my best buddies.  We drive eachother crazy and then we crack open the next beer and move on.  As I said in one of the other threads I got a bit burnt out with the discussions.  So, if I sent some pointed comments your way I apologize as well if they were over-the-top.

Go Ohio!

If we didn't like you, we wouldn't crack on you.  And having been around for now what, 8 years, you've given us lots of opportunities.  Seriously though, no big deal.  Your loyalty to and passion for OU sports (heck, I think you were the only student in the Ozone for the last volleyball match) is without question.  I don't know about 69 but my skin is pretty thick when it comes to banter back in forth with people that I know.  Thanks for the note and see you at the next game.

Heck, all of us passionate Ohio fans have learned to be "thick skinned".  Many of us just have a different opinion on how things could get accomplished.  If we weren't we wouldn't be on this board.

One thing we all agree on is:

Alan said it better.  And, you guys know me by now.  I want it all to be gum drops and lollipops and positive and etc.

OK, now that the group hug is over, lets kick Marshall's arse.

Dragon--I like when you bring the heat.  Gets kinda boring and repeitive here without it.

Reminds me of the line from Maguire, Jerry:  'That's the difference between us--you think we're arguing and at a wall.  I think we're finally starting to talk.'  (something like that)

Hey Dragon,
Classy.  The passion is great, but lots of us go too far from time to time and it degenerates into personal attacks.  As you suggest, it can create a tone that is then continued and exaggerated by the next poster.  I like the leadership here from you, to recognize a mistake, apologize, and try to set things right.
Kicking Marshal's arse sounds good to me, too.

Since this has been one of the few adult conversations on the board lately, I suggest adult beverages after the game Saturday.  Al (I'm certain) will spring for the first round.

Bobcat Dragon is as supportive of OHIO sports as they come. One recent example: at the volleyball match against Dayton, with classes being over, there were about 1000 fans at the game, a small crowd for OHIO vball. In the Ozone bleachers, there was one!! lonely soul. Guess who? And he let the Dayton servers know he was there the entire match.

And knowing oldkatz, he'll have a few before the game as well.

Am overlooking Chartres St in the French Quarter right now, so anything would have to be closer to the Convo.......Oak Room, maybe?  You buy the first so you get to choose.  McKinley, you in??

Bigbobcat, I'll deal with you later---got some voodoo hand comin' at ya.

I'll have to buy your beverage and eats another time, OldKatz. Our frosh son Andrew makes his high school debut for the Scioto Irish vs. the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves on Saturday.

BTW -- the Irish travel to Athens to take on the Bulldogs on December 30. That's the same night the Bobcats host Norfolk State.
