How many times does Miami have to rename its student section to regenerate interest? Hawkheads, Red Alert, Charlie's Army? Ridiculous.

I kept waiting for the punch line and it never came. How brutally sad and embarrassing for Miami. 5 stars!

Edit: my bad, I thought I was commenting on this one- http://bobcatattack.com/messageboard/topic.asp?FromPage=1&ForumPID=1&PID=16526#FirstNew

same concept though-  Miami Sucks.

hmmm, we filled a bus (55 students), which left at 7am on a Saturday morning, going there last year. I wonder how many they will bring.

This also is not to mention our 55 students were louder then their, oh about 130 students (that number includes the band).

I think it's great that they're attempting to rekindle a rivalry from their side.

I also hope the O Zone puts them in their place once they arrive.

I also hope the O Zone plans a trip for the 3/4/11 game. And easily doubles/triples/more the amount of red fans that make it over to the Convo. Plenty of time to plan.

They never drew well. Back in 1977-78 they had a nice team with Archie Aldridge and Randy Ayers and won 20 games and I think later beat Marquette in the NCAA first round the year after Marquette won the title. We had two 20 ppg guys in Skaggs and Joyce, so a nice matchup and before the days when students had cable and internet, etc, etc. Millet was EMPTY. Nothing changes over there.

They had magic in a bottle one or two years. (1987?)  I recall going to a packed Millet Hall Ron Harper's senior season.  Great crowd, raucous, good student section, etc.  Ohio center who could not hit the broadside of a barn sunk two free throws with 2 seconds left and the Redskin fans left sad.

Rich Stanfel. I think his dad was an assistant coach with the Bears.

Yep (on both counts)......and it was in overtime.  A lot of us went into what would be "uptown" Oxford after the game and were overly pleasant.

I remember attending two sold out games (near 10,000 attendance) at Millett when Gary Trent was playing for us.
