Looks like we'll have the depth to have hockey like shifts. Never seen this much depth on a Bobcat squad.

At the 1:10 mark of the highlight video posted from Game 2, AJ Brown does not look at all like he's built like a freshman. I knew Elmore James was a physical/built guard, but didn't realize Brown was, also.

Lost the third game, but better for the effort. At least at halftime, once again, AJ Brown was the leading scorer.

Umm how tall is AJ Clayton, really? I thought last year he was definitely taller than BVP, Jason, and Sam. Here he looks 6'10" minimum.

Love to see the fight in this team between the 3 games despite the losses. I think this is going to be one of the more exciting years looking at the roster from top to bottom. Hopefully we can gel together and peak at the right time unlike last year.

Also, I'm really loving the media coverage of the team. Great stuff.

Ohio was leading going into the fourth quarter today. Despite losing three games, all games were close.

More importantly who is the absolute unit on the far right from the Spain Select team? Guy is huge.

Highlights from game 2! https://twitter.com/OhioMBasketball/status/15569953077449...

All of these videos over the past month are doing a great job of highlighting individual strengths that I think we expect. We expect Sheldon to be a knock down shooter based on his high school tape - and he's swishing threes in practice. We expect a 6'3'' 200+ guard in Elmore James to drive, take contact, and finish in the lane - and we get exactly that. Hadaway running the floor and getting dunks, Roderick and the Browns knocking down threes, Dwight banging in the paint, and catching lobs. Gabe with the post moves and hook shots.

And we haven't even seen the guy who very well could be our leading scorer. This could be the first year in quite some time where we have a complete team from top to bottom. Of all our scholarship guys, I don't know that there's a bad one in the bunch. Even in our best years since I've paid attention to the program I've often felt there was a piece or an aspect missing, whether that's big man size or a wing player that could create his own shot, and we had to really make an adjustment to stay away from weaknesses. Health and chemistry might be the biggest wildcards to this year's success, but this trip can only help the latter.
+1000. AJ Brown is really making me excited too. Looking like a natural one there. The froshmen are showing up and very encouraging to see Brod draining some buckets again. Ezuma, Clayton, Miles still showing their might.

I wouldn't doubt that being classmates with him last year. Dude had to be atleast a foot taller than me (5'11)

The team photo they posted earlier he looks about the same size as Aiden Hadaway (6’8”) and IJ (also 6’8”) and significantly shorter than G Wiz. (6’11”).

Glad we got the extra practice and game time. With all the freshmen and new faces on the roster we needed it. Also don't discount the bonding and comradery a trip like this creates. All good things.

With that said, I'm slightly (not bigly) disappointed in going 0 for 3 on the trip against "select" teams from Europe. Good college teams should win these pretty handily. Likely means this team isn't a legitimate MAC contender yet.

The good thing is I said yet. Lots of potential, so they could be by March. Let's hope so.

Oh and you heard it here first - AJ Brown is going to be MAC Frosh of Year.

I think that this is a good analysis. I, too, thought that they'd win at least one of these games. I think that a lot of it has to do with new faces and not enough time to build up team chemistry.

Sheldon will have the most productive 4 (or 5)-year career as a Bobcat. You heard that here first.

And let's not forget that they still don't have a 6-foot-2 senior guard who has averaged 13 ppg over his four-year career so far, including leading Tulane to end the season. Baker will be a difference-maker.

I'm not saying Ohio is going to win a title this season (Toledo has a ton returning), but I just don't remember the last time an Ohio basketball team had this much depth. It's a good problem to have for Boals.

October truly can't get her soon enough.

Ok guys, let's not get out in front of our skis here.
We have a few key players to replace; i.e. PG & PF & SF.
This team is young, very young.
These games were exhibition games not the real deal.

While I would like to think along the lines of some on this site I am tempering my enthusiasm.

I agree and I'm excited too, we're deep and talented. Three close losses against the Select team shows promise, but "Bama had a blowout win against them. Long way to go.

Yes, Alabama beat the Spain select team. Also, read this about Alabama who CBS has ranked #21 in a way-too-early poll.

"The Crimson Tide's ranking is based on Alabama returning four of its top eight scorers from an NCAA Tournament team - among them Noah Gurley and Charles Bediako. Nate Oats should combine that core with a top-five recruiting class featuring two 5-star prospects and Ohio transfer Mark Sears."

We aren't Alabama.
