I received a notice in the mail that there will be a banner ceremony before the game celebrating last season's MAC Championship.  I haven't seen or hear anything on the OU athletics website though.  Anyone know any details?

Maybe a week ago, Tommy posted on facebook that he and Asown had finished filming for the intro video, so I'm guessing there will be a light's out portion. I may just mosy on over.

Blows my mind that this hasn't been anywhere on the OU AD website.

Huh?  The first video to play on ohiobobcats.com is an ad that specifically mentions champions night.

Championship banner will be unveiled before the game. If there is anything less than 9,000 people in the Convo Sunday afternoon (even with NFL Playoffs) it'll be an absolute joke.

It is possible that there will be no line on this game.
As we enter this game there are certainly many concerns as to our obvious weaknesses and whether or not we can improve in these areas, FG% & FT%.
I think that these 1st few conference games will certainly be quite telling. Coach is really on the spot this year. Many if not most of these players are his recruits. We are already operating with a depleated bench and if we suffer any injuries to 1 or 2 starters we will be in big trouble.
I don't have a good feeling about this game even with it being at home. We already have lost more at home this year than all of last year. We don't seem to have any home court advantage, no fear factor.
Coles is clearly the better coach in this match up and if everything else is equal Miami wins.

Do you have any idea how lines are made? The main reasons lines aren't made are because either not enough money will come in on a game or there is a significant injury/suspension that a team is dealing with all of a sudden. Just because teams are inconsistent isn't going to mean Vegas won't release lines.

Way to show your true colors, but wait, that's just you,   First of all, Coach John Groce is 4 & 1 against the Red-Chickens.

Convo -        2 & 0
Millett Hall - 1 & 1
The Q -         1 & 0

If Cole's is clearly the better coach, then why is he 1 & 4 against Groce, but if memory serves me right , Charlie is really 0 and 4 against Groce,  because the lone Miami win against Groce, Assistant Coach Jermaine Henderson coached Miami in Charlies absent. but any way you slice it Groce is 4 & 1 against the Red-Chickens,  Things that make you go  hmmm.

Question :         Why did the  Red-Chicken   cross the road ?

Answer :             To get out of  Oxford !

Let me clarify my opening statement in my previous post.
Both teams appear evenly matched and with the fact that we do not have a great home record I felt that the spread will by 'YOU PICK'EM.

Let me clarify your final statement in your post, and I quote " Coles is clearly the better coach in this match up" and I responded with the fact that Groce is 4 & 1 against Charlies Red-Chickens, If Charlie was the better Coach, shouldn't that record be reversed? So far head to head, Groce has Charlies number.  Just sayin.  I could give a rats ass about the spread, you play the game on the floor. that's where its won and lost, not in the spread.

Hey Bobcatgman.........I read your response the 1st time, no need to be redundant.
My previous post was in response to another poster, Ohio Hoops, concerning the spread. I felt I was not clear enough and thus clarified.

Redundant ?   All I did was call you out on your statement about Coles being the better coach in this match up, so far the record speaks for itself at 4 & 1. I'm just replying to your last statement made in your post.  Now I should get back to raking the leaves in Groce's yard. Have a Great Day !

I watched Miami play at Wright State earlier in December. They were b-a-d bad. I'm talking real bad. WSU is a so-so mid major who will finish somewhere in the middle of the pack in the Horizon and basically led by 20 virtually from the 12 minute mark of the 1st half on.

If we lose to them, at home nonetheless, we're even worse than I think we are.

And maybe they didn't watch us against Robert Morris, or Oakland, or Kansas, or...

Neither team appears to be scary good.

But they lost AT Kansas (not a neutral floor) by less than we did and they beat IUPUI, unlike us.  Four of their losses were to ranked teams (Duke, Cowtown, Kansas and SD St.).  So far, it's a typical Charlie Coles year: only six games scoring 60+ points (4-2) and one of those was against Towson and another against Saginaw Valley.  Yeah, we should win, but Charlie always seems to crank em up come MAC time.

Charlie knows what's up: “Athens is probably my favorite place to go in the MAC,” Coles said. “Kent is a close second, and Ball State is a close third, but Ohio is No. 1 because of the O Zone and the students."

More from Charlie...

“We’ve played in front of bigger audiences than anyone in our league,” Coles said. “Over 9,000 at Duke, 16,000 at OSU, 13,500 at Dayton, 16,300 at Kansas. None of those will be as hostile as the one we’ll face (today).”
