Pathetic effort.  Rebounding is partly about desire, and if you are missing that against Miami of all teams, in front of a huge crowd......where is your heart?

Talent and other intangibles also go into rebounding, like strength, quickness, intuition, technique.....some people just can't rebound well.

Says a lot, and some guys are throwing him under the bus, yet he leads us in assist, scoring, and is near the top of the rebound charts, steals and minutes.

I think there are a few factors that cause this.  Zone defense is hard to rebound out of because you have to go find a man to box out when the shot goes up.  If a shot is taken while back side defenders are releasing their man, it easy for the offensive guy to slip under the hoop.  Another reason is the increased use of the 3 point shot.  The longer the shot, the longer the rebound.  The guards should get more rebounds if the ball is bouncing out to them.  DJ also seems to play a lot taller than he is lately.  He is rebounding and blocking shots against guys a lot taller than him.  I have seen several instances where the three guys playing low have their men sealed off and the guards are able to pick up the board uncontested.  I worry about Devo the most on the boards.  He seems to be out of position and just trying to outjump people.  This is probably leading to extra fouls.  With him I hope it is technique and not effort.  I will watch a lot closer this weekend.

JCW, give it up already will you. No one threw DJ under the bus. No one has questioned his athletic ability or his desire. The only thing in question here is your ability to rationalize what people are trying to say. And this last game should have proven what we are saying.

Would you like to tell Devaughn?   All you have to do is just stick around 15 minutes after the game and you can tell him face to face. man up and tell him face to face instead of taking cheap shots at him on a message board.   Not sure if fans know, but Devaughn has been nursing a very sore wrist for about 3 weeks now, But instead of sitting,  he is trying to play through it and I hate to say anything bad about people, but since Dr. Carin has passed,  these ball players are NOT getting the medical attention that they need and deserve IMO.

I've learned my lesson on this board about posting things about people before I had all the facts and have been lamb basted for it, Before the Crash I posted something and didn't have all the facts and BLOVE right down lamb basted me, But I have learned from it and it makes me think before I post now,  thanks BLOVE, Its time for folks to get some facts before you post negative things about players.

Not sure how a hurt wrist prohibits you from boxing out your man in order for a teammate to collect a rebound or how it prevents you from committing almost 2 fouls for every minute your on the floor but I suppose that's just nonsense logic talking.

No,  thats you talking out your ass because your head knows better. Anyone who has played the game of basketball and has played with an injury,  knows what it's like playing with an injury, Did you ever play basketball Ohio Hoops? you compensate so you don't hurt it any worse, it alters your way of playing and a wrist injury is down right irritating. After all,  you do use your hands in basketball right?

DW must be boxin out because the other players ARE getting the rebounds and from what i'm seeing he's using his other hand to foul.

Hope you get a big kick out of bashing 18 to 21 year olds Ohio Hoops,  but me personally, It's not my style, but if you gotta bash someone,  bash me, I'm a big boy,  I can dish it out and also take it.  Let's take down Can't State tomorrow !!!    See you all in the Round House on Richland Tomorrow !!!    GO BOBCATS !!!

So shocked you decided to go the same route you always go. I'm not sure what I said what was really ripping them but whatever. It's just my opinion that from what Devaughn has shown through his career here he should be better than his numbers indicate. If anything you should be be a little happy that I think highly enough of Devaughn to expect a double double in MAC play.
