Just like Clarrett, another talent gone to waste.  Imagine if we had him one more year.  Then again, he would probably still get in trouble and kicked off the team.

I just think this is sad.  You bring a kid to a quiet town where crime is generally not on our headlines and he still finds a way to find trouble.  Just imagine him and Cooper in the backcourt this year. It would have been fun to watch for sure.  Hopefully he can get it all turned around.

Bassett.....Kenney.... Coleman.... what a shame. add Horne and A Kellogg in and who knows how good this team would be right now.

Why is it that I saw this topic and sighed? I mean, ya wanna believe it's gonna be something good, but ya know it ain't.

Tiger. Stripes. Et cetera.

Then again, I don't know how highly it speaks of some of us in that we kinda know that certain things go on (of course, never in the specific), yet take great joy in the tournament run of 2010.

Really? He got arrested for possession of Marijuana. I don't think he's the first OU student to have that distinction.

Everyone does it so it must be ok. Awesome philosophy.

Last time I checked he's not an Ohio University student, and I am sure the condition of his probation from assault is to stay out of trouble. But hey, if we're all doing it!

It's against the law and I am not condoning it, but we're not talking about sexual assault or armed robbery here.

We are talking about a kid who has been in and out of problems, some victimless and some not so victimless, so we are talking about a young person with a pattern of troubled behavior, not little Jimmy who made one mistake.

Exactly. This isn't some kid looking to have a good time one night and got caught up in something he shouldn't. I'm pretty sure the cops could pull him over 7 days a week and they could charge him with the same thing all 7 days.

His stated reason for wanting to jump to the NBA (before Courtside) was he was tired of his mom having to work three jobs to support him.  What happened to that?

The article says he was bailed out almost immediately after getting booked.  Wonder who did that?

He did us a favor last spring.  We wouldn't need losing a key player in January.

The kid can say what he wants, he was ineligible and was simply his way of taking the easy way out.

Sad, sad, sad!  I really liked AB, or at least his public persona when he was interviewed on the radio.  I guess it was a case of what you see is not what you get.  JCW is certainly right about his checkered past, but I thought he had put that behind him.  Well, I always assume the best about people until proven otherwise -- unless you're talking about a Redchicken and then it's guilty until proven innocent.

Edit: Only two Redchickens have ever passed that high bar and proved themselves innocent:
1.  Coach Charlie
2.  My oldest daughter who initially went to Oxford Tech, but got her head on straight by the end of her sophomore year and transferred to OHIO.

I thought about giving a pass to President Benjamin Harrison, but I just couldn't bring myself to acquit three Redchickens in the span of two centuries.

What a disappointing story to read.  It was a blast watching him play basketball, and I will never forget the great memories from the MAC tourney/March Madness run, but he needs to get his act together.

I got a chuckle out of it. Not sure why you always have to be calling people out?
