Toledo and Detroit areas expecting 10-15" of snow Tuesday with frigid temperatures making difficult travel to Central.

Yeah, it is going to be rough getting up there.  They may need to postpone to Thursday to be able to drive up Wednesday night when things clear up a bit.  I would almost expect it at this point.  SE Ohio shouldn't get much, and I think Mt Pleasant may be north of where it is expecting to be real bad...But the driving ground in between is gonna be nasty.

On the other hand, I would expect the schedule to be adjusted for departure today.

Do we still fly to Mt Pleasant?

Two years ago they did fly to Central. Of course that was also bad weather in Athens that delayed the team leaving and thus postponed the game by a day because there was no deicing fluid at the Athens airport. How an airport in Ohio doesn't have deicing fluid was and is baffling to me.

This game is also on TV which will pressure us to be there even if that means a day early.

I doubt that the team flys any university planes to Central. the King air 350 only holds 9. Thats the largest plane unless they fly the DC-3. Which they dont. And the King air is kept in a hanger so it would not need deicing. so I dont think thats why they were delayed.

The could of just ran out of it. Also KUNI does not carry large amounts of deicing because university planes are kept in a hanger. So most of the time it is not needed.

I seem to remember it was a charter out of Parkersburg that got grounded for a day due to no deicing equipment.  I don't think they ever fly out of KUNI (sweet airport code btw :)

They were supposed to fly out of Athens. Couldn't and instead drove the hour and a half to fly out of Charleston to Mt. Pleasant. There were times they flew out of Parkersburg but there have also been a couple of times they flew out of Athens as well.

Does anyone know where they charter their planes from for their flights?

For football, I think they use USA3000 (www.usa3000.com) but not sure about hoops.

When I flew with the football team in 2005, they flew out of Rickenbacker in Columbus.  Not sure how that translates to the 2011 basketball team though.

Well the basketball team must not use them because i doubt you will find any airbus 320s landing at KUNI.

The team is scheduled to fly out tomorrow. Not sure of the time, but I suppose it's subject to being altered anyway based on the coming weather.
