Seriously guys, get over yourselves and grow up.  Enough with the personal attacks on people, this goes to everybody!

Quit flying off the handle at the first sign of disagreement, you are making all of us look bad.

We have deleted the BSU Pre-Game thread and have these comments:

1. It’s not OU sports related in a sense that it advances OU athletics, one of the core missions of BobcatAttack.com

2. We don't share people's names or personal info.  Since JCW has never publicly said he is Wayne Horsley on the site or in another venue, we cannot allow his name to be thrown out there without public proof.

3. We are 100% against and embarrassed by the actions and threatening tone JCW has displayed via private message, but since he sent the message to Borna privately and did not post that on the public board, we don't have any course of action against him.  If a user is harassing other users via PM, they can easily block any farther correspondence with that user by using the Block User feature inside the PM system.

4. Any personal threats against another user via PM should be brought to our attention, however we sure hope a group of grown men are smart enough to not fly off the handle at the first sign of disagreement.   If anyone feels threatened by a pm, they are encouraged to contact the proper authorities, and BobcatAttack.com WILL cooperate in any investigation.  Just as if somebody made verbal threats to you on the street or in a bar, some rules apply here.

We have electronic records of everything anybody says on the public board and in private messages, whether things are deleted or edited.  We keep copies of all posts and logins as we will cover our own butts.

Grow up, stick to talking sports, as you all suck at making these petty little personal attacks.

What?  A voice of reason?  That's the last thing I was expecting to come from this brouhaha.

Thanks, Ryan.  We needed that.

I think Ryan is exactly right.  We work to keep this message board as civil as possible.  We all have a responsibility to conform to the letter and spirit of the posting policies.  This is a good reminder for all of us.

That's the right question to ask!  And be sure not to park anywhere near a white pickup!

Next time you're in town guys and gals, you can park in my yard for $20 a day.  It's only a mile and half from campus, and the exercise will be gratis and healthy. It's a guaranteed Parking Nazi Free Zone.

Just when I was starting to get entertained by all the drama. It was a nice distraction from the heartbreaking losses at the convo I've had to witness.

That's very good news....do you happen to have records of everything that was said before the sight had that technical issue in the latter part of last year?

But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved BobcatAttack.com

Why not? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You might not WANT to, but you definintely can't "CANNOT." Maybe you should learn something about defamation law before talking about it in public.

WOW!  This just might finally be the time to modify board policy so that every poster must post under their own name and not some chicken sh&% handle.  Just sayin

What exactly would that accomplish?  By and large, most people here would still not know who in the hell anyone else was regardless of what they list as their user name, be it real name or not.  People wouldn't post more carefully, because for 95% of the people here, as I said no one will know/care who they are regardless of if they use their real name or not.

Every message board I have been on for long periods of time gets like this at some point.  As they become more popular (and I assume this one has somewhat rapidly in the past couple years due to successes of the teams), more newcomers leads to both a different atmosphere some stupid posts... more people leads to more stupid people - it happens.  The original clique gets pissed, and it turns into a Civil War (arguments over nothing, people pulling the "Do you know who I am?" card on an internet message board as if anyone really gives a s##, petty crap like we have here) because it's no longer just a good old boys' club.  It just seems to be the growing pains of every board.

I was looking at some of the boards for some of the Bracketbuster teams, and a few of them (VCU off of the top of my head) has a thread very similar to this stickied at the top. It's just the way things evolve in these settings, unfortunately.

i couldn't agree less.  If you have to post under a real name you post what you want others to know/think about you.  That eliminates the majority of the bs posts that we get on here.   It's not about who may know you but are you willing to attach your name to a post in a public internet forum?

I agree with Alan's concept here, but it is obviously extremely difficult if not impossible to enforce.

I don't get the hostility here. The moderators don't want to condone a name being tossed around that they have reason to believe MAY not be accurate. So what. Yawner. You want to attack the moderators for their understanding of defamation law.

This from a professor of... uh... something other than defamation law.
