There have been numerous threads about our shot selection and it got me thinking about what our effective FG% is for the year. This is essentially how many points a player scores subtracting FTs made then divided by 2 and then divide this number into the number of FG attempts. If a player shoots no 3-pt shots his effective FG% will match his overall FG%. This equation gives us a good gauge of how effective each players shots are.
D.J. Cooper - 45.3%
D. Washington - 53.2%
T. Freeman - 60.4%
I. Baltic - 52.1%
N. Kellogg - 59.8%
R. Keely - 45.5%
T.J. Hall - 44.4%
R. Johnson - 37.0%
A. Sayles - 43.7%
E. Jacobs - 28.6%
D. McKinley - 42.9%
A. Adedipe - 60.0%
Team - 50.2%
I expected D.J.'s numbers to be lower. The other thing I calculated was our opponents EFG% and it underscores how bad we've been defensive. (51.1%) And it balloons up to 52.1% in conference. Of course, we have been significantly better in conference offensively as I think most of us have noticed (53.6%)
