After watching the 2nd half tonight, I feel a lot better about our front court for the next few years.  Ivo has taken a huge step forward this year.  If he does anything similar next year, we are looking at a guy earning all-mac honors in his final 2 years in Athens.  If Smith, Goard, or Jacobs can step in and play a good supporting role, we will be just fine in the front court

It has clicked for him.

I don't know what "It" is, but it has clicked into place.

I loved seeing him eschewing the 15 foot jumper, squaring up his defender and going to work. IF he keeps doing that, he'll start getting defenses helping on him. That means Devo dunks and open looks for Cooper, Freeman and Kellogg.

I said it a few weeks ago. You get ANYTHING out of Baltic or Washington and this team is built for March.

The Devo dunk comment instantly brought to mind our game against North Carolina and the Flomo dunks opened up by Brandon Hunter!

I can feel it all coming together again...  Develop the consistency, get a bit of magic, and we're dancing.

As Ivo goes so, go the Bobcats!

I'm very happy to see that his improved play has continued, and it wasn't just a matter of taking what a weak defense would give him in the NIU game.

Ivo Baltic taking the ball the the rim with authority.  He knows how to finish.  That's what he have missed is a guy who can finish.  He either scores or gets fouled. Combined with Washington inside you can't stop that. That's shit will be their all day long. Teams with start to play some zone and that means three open up or the alley oop to Devo from Cooper is back in business.

This should be the team's new slogan for the remainder of the year.  Post it all over the locker room, print the T Shirts.

Jokes aside, Ivo is really starting to put together a fine year. 10.7 PPG, 6.0 RPG, and 77.4% from the line in only 25 minutes of action per game. He is already a better all around player than Devo and could be ready for big things.

Absolutely agreed, Wes, Ivo seems to be making great strides, particularly as conference season progresses.  The great thing is, with shooters like Tommy and Nick, and a guy like Coop passing the ball, if Ivo and Devo become even moderate forces, it requires the opposition to guard both attacks, which can become very difficult.

I also have noticed (while I haven't yet watched tonight's game) an increase recently in post-to-post passing, which has been refreshing as well as effective.

For the first 20 minutes Ohio looked like, well, the mediocre Ohio we've been watching all season.

Then came the first few seconds of the second half and i wondered: "Can the Cats keep up this rush of intensity?"

I think Buffalo was genuinely surprised by the increased - and sustained - intensity on D.  The trapping.  Washington's steal and seconds later his narrowly missing another steal.

Baltic?  One word came to mind as I watched him: fearless.  Fearless making his moves, fearless taking his shots.  The team seemed to feed off his fearlessness.

As the game ended this question came to mind: During these next three weeks, can Coach Groce instill in his troops the will to play 40 minutes of tough D every game?

To do so, they will need to prove Steve Mix wrong.  He said several times that Ohio just isn't built to do that.  Hope that he turns out wrong.

I knew somebody would come thru!  I want one, but my 4 year old is starting to read...I'd say we could make a G-rated version using Stuff instead...But that's just not intense enough for me.

Last night was fun to watch! I'm so happy to see things coming together for Ivo. Judging from my encounters with him on the academic side, he's a really nice young man and has a good work ethic. He's just going to keep getting better.

That's the joke and why it is funny, among other blatant errors...

I like the kid-friendly alternative Pete.  Well done.
