Absolutely terrible final possession. Have we seen this before coming out of a time out?

Yeah I can't believe our play for the win at the end of regulation was that poorly executed.

I don't know how DVW got that final shot to go, but wow that was a big win.

I was convinced we had blown it when we were down 5, but the guys didn't give up. Truly a great win.

I was not feeling good most of that Overtime, but thank god they were able to pull out that win; you can't have a 20pt lead in the 2nd half of a game and lose.

First thought, having only seen the last 4 minutes and the overtime:  BIG WIN.  Did we meet my hope that more than anything we'd show today that we are tough?

But having a 20 point lead in the 2nd half and having to go to OT is not the best.  But a win against the MAC's top team late in the season on their court is not bad.

Can't say that we're rolling.  We are playing our best ball at the right time, though.

Great win, even with the collapse.  I don't know how many times I have seen Ohio get up at Kent but to only implode when Kent made their run.  We didn't do that tonight.  Anybody know the last time Ohio won at Kent?  I'm thinking early 2000's during the B Hunt years.

Man's effort tonight at Kent.  Big's stay on the floor, we hit a few shots, and D.J. is D.J. we win.  Need to bring it Tuesday against Akron.  Nice effort at a tough place, but blowing big lead again is still troubling.

Well-stated, Putnam.

Who played well for us during out splendid first half?  Any of the frosh?

What was the total attendance and % of O-H-I-O vs. kents?

Did we do 'Winning Team?'

I was not there, but I watched on the Kent videocast, which was very nice, by the way.

Kellogg was big in the first half, but he disappeared after about the first five minutes of the second half. Washington was big all the way through.

Early in the game, I could hear lots of cheering whenever something went against Kent State, so I know the Ohio crowd was good. The total announced attendance was just over 5,000, I believe. Great job by the Ohio fans who went. Wish I could have gone.

Was listening to the radio in the car with distractions, so I could be remembering this wrong, but ...

I thought Russ said Ricardo Johnson drained a free throw to cap a three-point play in OT.

Assuming I heard that right, what a clutch moment for a freshman. Yeah, it was just one point, but that was the margin of victory.

Great job Ricardo!

A couple thoughts on a HUGE win.

At first I was bummed about blowing the big lead, and while it is certainly more demoralizing, at the end of the day one could argue that it is better to play great for 25 minutes, then let the other team back into it, than play poorly for the first 30 minutes but steal the win (like against UB and BGSU).  In the former case, it shows that you are really putting things together, albeit not for an entire 40 minutes.  Of course, I'm not sure I buy that argument, but it makes me feel a bit better about things nonetheless.

I think the big turning point in the game were the three quick fouls on Reggie in 16 seconds with around 14 left.  Keely had been playing some fantastic defense on Justin Greene up to that point, and as a result we were up 16 when he had to depart with 4 fouls.  The rest, as they say, is history...

It appeared that Ricardo Johnson was in for defense at that point of the game, slashed to the basket and got the assist from DJ Cooper.  Well done.

That was a great game to watch.  I was there with some non-Ohio fans who were just interested in a good game.  One of them is now a big fan of the team.  He asked me if DJ always takes those long threes at bad times (although eh did hit one last night).  I can believe they couldnt get something going toward the basket at the end of regulation.

He came away with good impressions from Ivo, Nick and DJ.  We were both wondering what was up with Reg.  There were a few times he would get the ball amke a move then stop and look like a deer in headlights looking for someone to pass it to.  He was way too tentative.  Devo played a mans game tonight.  Nice grabs on the alley-oops and obviously the huge shot at the end.

It was a good sanity check for me being there with people who weren't wearing green colored glasses.  I was able to ask them if they saw the same bad calls I did.  The there were atleast 3 charges Tommy took that were called blocks, and the travelling call on Tommy when he fell down then gained control of the ball was ridiculous.  My one friend summed it up well after DJ had a pass delflected OB by Kent but they were given the ball, "Not only are they making bad calls, but they're way out of position as well".  There were bad / missed calls both ways, but wow that was painful to watch.

First win in Kent since my birthday 10 years ago.  I remember Jon Sandrson coming up with some big plays and  Brandon Hunter draining a three from the top of the key to break their backs (one of thos eno no no no OK moments).  All in all a great day to be a Bobcat.

For any discussion about the downside of losing that big lead last night, or it being an ugly win...

It was a beautiful win, any way it happened. Winning on the home court of the MAC's top team? Coming back from 5 down in overtime? GUTSY. It's a disservice to the team to put any negative tint on this one at all.

Great win, Cats... keep it going!

That is correct, Groce seemed to be subbing Nick and Ricardo offense for defense, and Ricardo really made a huge play with that and-one.
