That's as complimentary as Dambrot has ever been about the other team. He usually has very few good things to say, especially after a loss.

Thanks for the two press conferences.  It's always interesting to see what the opposition has to say about yOU.  I almost like Dambrodt now (not really).  Three things stood OUt.  First, the time OUts at the end were to get the attention of his team.  He wants them to remember this punch in the face.  Second, he says OUr team is pretty dog gone good and JG has gotten them playing really well.  I was vocal about OUr performances early in the season, but,  having seen this one in person, the Cats really are playing well.

Third thing, he said was something along the lines of doing something different next time we meet.  This gets back to why I still dislike OUr early performaces.  While yOU don't win or loose the MAC or an NCAA berth with yOUr play in November and December, yOU can loose OUt on ANY (NIT, etc.) post season play.  And, I believe we did just that.

Bad thing abOUt this team is that if they have one bump in the road in Cleveland, they are done.  That wOUld be a shame.  So, I hope they can focus for that week in Cleveland the way they did last year and last night.  That's the only way for them to keep playing into March.  How many times have yOUu said to yOUrself "I wOUld trade this game for...".  I sure hope we don't find OUrselves saying that after we meet these guys next time!

We had this discussion back in Nov./Dec. and I was in a small minority that argued that games early in the year do matter (for Ohio and all MAC teams). For the reasons Casper71 mentions as well as for seeding if we do end up winning the MAC tourney. Not to mention how pathetic a close look at the MAC standings and the teams' overall records looks at this time of the year.
