I watched this game, as much as I could stand, and it was painful. With the season-ending injuries to two projected starters and then the graduation losses this team was obviously going to be in a re-building year, but they are worse than I thought possible. This will truly be a Wilderness Year for our distaff team. We will be lucky to win more than a handful of league games, and that might be a very generous prediction. I will give the ladies credit. They don't seem to quit in any game that I've watched. They have a lot of heart and they are working to improve. There's just not much to work with, unfortunately. Too bad that they had home games with OSU and Cinci in this down year.

Watching this one in person, it was like there were two distinctly different games rolled into one: 1) when Yaya Felder was on the floor and 2) when she had to sit due to foul issues. With Yaya on the floor, we were losing but the game was not out of reach. It was in the 12-15 point range. When Felder had to exit with foul issues, we got rolled. Felder was the offense, no other OU players were really scoring.

It felt to me like UC ran up the score in the final few minutes, also. I get it, play the game until the final whistle, but it felt cheap to me. The game was well in-hand, early shot clock threes and cherry-picking run outs seemed unnecessary.

Yeah, YaYa is the real deal. I remarked last night to my wife that if we had five Felders on the team we could have won the game!

I should add that we usually attend these games in person, but watched on ESPN+ because my wife is recovering from a cold and didn’t feel like going to it in person. I think that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. This was one ugly game!

It was hard to watch. Not a lot of true D1 talent on our team, I fear.

Yep, Marietta College could give them a good game. Cueing up Jeff for a DIII comment.
