Why are we playing a team whose next game is OU-Lancaster? This one is a real head-scratcher for me. I'd much rather being playing Marietta College or Rio Grande. Maybe next year we can add OSU-Marion to the schedule. I can't wait!

It's just ridiculous that we keep scheduling these games. If the four freshman don't play at least 20+ minutes, I don't see what the value is of scheduling a game like this. Eastern Illinois...Alabama State...and UC-Clermont might be three worst consecutive home games scheduled in the history of Ohio basketball. Feel bad for the season ticket holders. Boals and the athletic department have to do better in this area. And we can't use the excuse...."nobody wants to play us"...anymore. It's not like this team has been to three straight NCAA tournaments.

Ah, my first college credits were from UC Clermont... Got a late start to the college application process so, applied to Ohio but, had to wait until winter to start. While waiting to go off to school, I got my first job slinging chili at Skyline and taking a couple classes there. Meh times...

As for the scheduling, I would much rather have this game as the 3rd or 4th game at the latest. It is a good chance to get the guys on tape but, the time is drawing near to start putting a bit finer point to our game. For this game, we will no doubt rest some starters and, get ready for Marshall. We need to beat Marshall. I wonder if the 4 star shooting guard from WV we offered will be on hand to see the game? That's probably a thought for the Marshall thread...

As always, Go Bobcats!

No inside info but I would have to assume Wilson sits this one as well.

Looks like an 8-man rotation.

I'd say in the future if we play a branch campus that we keep in the OHIO famiy.

I agree and I’d take it a step further and play any such games at the branch campus. Not having them in Athens shouldn’t be that upsetting to season ticket holders (Including me. Heck, I may be more apt to go). Make it a big deal at the branch and community leading up to the game. Maybe we’d get some new fans. I’ve touched on playing at the branches before but if the game is actually playing a branch school team it makes even more sense to me.

Here's a similar thought: bring the branch teams to the Convo to play a preliminary game against each other prior a men's game. Bus branch students down for those games and maybe periodically for the men's women's Saturday double headers. It has been regularly suggested and regularly ignored, of course.

I searched them and found a box score of a 97-50 loss against Georgetown College. Big man #44 played just 3 minutes but did nail a 3 pointer.

This is a laughable mismatch. UCC played Northern Ky and lost 89-49. DW3 absolutely should NOT play not only to rest his injury but to not put the health and well-being of UCC at risk. We need to see major minutes for all 4 freshmen.

Boals might try to keep it close just to try and sucker UC into a home/home series.... :)

Ding-ding-ding!!! We have a winner!

That's why you bother to schedule this glorified scrimmage.

Invaluable court time for the new kids and maybe some walk-ons get in.

I am more offended we’re on the road at Youngstown than by this game.

If the walk ons put in all the hard work and dedication to the program to play minutes against a branch campus, they could have just gone to a branch campus.

If a branch campus doesn't have the academic program they are looking for... and academics are often a big deal to walk-ons since UCLA and Kansas did not offer for hoops...

Youngstown is gonna win by 20, so they're probably offended as well.
