Saw this over on BSUfans.com. Not sure if everyone heard about it Pretty good fight and similar to what drew the ire of Devaughn Washington in the Ball State game. ,

Unbelievable, the guy gets hooked and pulled to the floor and then has another player fall on him - he defends himself and gets a suspension.  What a joke.  If it weren't for the internet and tv everywhere, nothing would have been handed down.  Sometimes technology isn't worth a darn.

Did you watch the whole clip?  It was pretty clear that Whitfield first punched the player that he got tangled up with, and then proceeded to choke another Ball State player trying to break up a fight after one of his own teammates, Mike Douglass pushed him over, landing of top of Whitfield, thinking it as an attack

The suspension seems pretty legit to me.

I agree with the suspension. While it obviously wasn't the worst thing I've seen, he clearly is shown throwing a punch and with his hands around the neck of another player. Everyone knows you just can't do that.

Turn off the sound and watch the entire video.  What I saw was the player in red locking the arm of the player in white and pulling him down.  On the ground the player in red's arm was still pinned so he hit the other guy to release his arm.  As players gathered around a player in red landed on the player in white who as they rolled over  had his hand on the player in reds neck for about a second or two.  That's it.

I watch the entire thing without sound the first time. I went back after your post and listened to it with sound. Regardless, I have the same opinion.

That's fair.  That's why some fans boo a call and some think the call is good.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Appreciate your post and your objective point of view.

Agree with you completely on that. That is why I would never want to be an official. That's a rough job and I'm not sure I've got thick enough skin.

I had posted this elsewhere as Kamenacki did the same thing to Devaughn. He is an instigator who is also an initiator. BSU fans are worried about the perception of thier team being sullied while they accuse Flenard for the punch. It is easy in college hoops to get under the skin of testosterone laced young men.

I have little respect for kids like Kamenecki who are the instigators and do not respect the game. Play it the right way. I have no problem voicing my opinion to the local coaching staff and will do so when the time comes. Play the game right and it will gove back to youin many ways. Disrespect it and some how some way it will make you pay. I taugh all my kids the same thing  ...... they will tell you dads big saying is "never be the second one in as they are always the one who pays the price"....the problem child  never geets caught. I am all for toughness and hard play and sacrificing your body for the team and continuously teach that to my grade school players but the second I see them play dirty they pay and big price and learn that is disrespectful to the game. Kamenecki is a punk. Still has time to clean it up but presently he is all MAC PUNK.

I am surprised that after such egregious shots TF has taken this year by Watt and Kraus and the MAC office just brushed them under the rug  just ignotring  that anything happened. I can't beleive they grew balls for once and I am deeply troubled that they did not see that Kamenecki is the problem....he was the first game in Muncie and escalated it the second after getting under their skin the previous meeting.

Perhaps the entire cheerleading squad should have been suspended as well.
Hey, it's happened before...

I would say that is automaitc for the retaliation but they have to also take Kam out of the pic as this is the 3 rd fight he has started. I dont care if he did not swing if you look at the bullcrap he get worned for inthe first half of our game vs IVO , Keely and Devo yougot to know what is up.

THe retaliation is stupid , Just walk away. Keely is much better than he was at that a year ago. Can t be a help if you are on the benchin street clothes.

OTOH I am always amazed how often the same efs you see doing other games for other leagues amek silly calls. A kid boxing out is called for a foul while one or two guys fly in over him or swim over his shoulder knowcking him to the floor yet he is the one called for blocking or holding while gettng man handled. .  Why do you see that called one way the first night watching a Horizon or B11 game and the next night they call it different? Same official. I have to think there is an influence from the MAC office as to what they want .  Knowing officials whohave given up college to go back to the purity of HS games after they have been told to "Forget what the call is or what you see it is all about game management and making sure flow is ensured" .  There is a lot that goes on behingd the scene with politicking pre post and through the MAC office that we as fans do not know about or want to admit.

You want to politic about someone taking away your driving lanes or do you want to teach your kids to shoot a pullup jumper over someone who is not going to challenge it? If you are KOsta Koufos why would you take 5 charges going to dunk when the 6'5 kid guarding you is not moving off the block, turn the F&^K around an d shoot OVER him. It is a simple mans game being ruined byu coaches who are not as much coaches and disciplinarioans and mentors as they ar e polit effin ticians made that way by guys bending and torquing Dr Naismiths simple rules.

Absolutely deserves the suspension for retaliating, in my book.  The first punch wasn't awful, but you can't put your hands around a kid's neck like that.

As for the Ball player, I'm not sure I agree that was a basketball play as the announcers did.  Sure seemed like he had plenty of time to release, but chose to hook him down to the ground.

Too busy to watch the whole video or to read all the posts here closely.  But a quck glance at the vid makes me think that at least a couple of those players are big but not basketball players.  Kinda look like all they have is physicality.  My perception could tie to borna's remarks about some of these guys being instigators, bullies, other than ballplayers.

Have not heard. Kraus got nothing for his attack on Tommy?  Even after the second shove? Unbelievable. It's not like he gave him a little bump, he went after him twice with hands to the head. MAC officials and this league are a joke.

The worst thing about it wasn't that he hit him twice. It's that he stepped on the floor with clear intention to do what he did. There was no instigating episode and it wasn't in the flow of the game.   What he did was clearly planned and it's beyond absurd that the league would look the other way.
