that, with Miami's loss last night, Kent St. becomes the first MAC team since 1993 to repeat as regular season champions. I would have thought the Kent St. teams earlier this decade would have done it.

I think that's a factor of the East being tougher most years. Kent won four straight East titles but didn't finish with a better conference record than the West champ.

There is that too. The Central team with Chris Kaman was better as was the Western team the following year  Central in 2001 however was not.
