I would think with your season, you all would be thrilled at a chance to play a game, AND to play us.
The frustration with the CIT has nothing to do with this year. It has everything to do with last season. When you're a good second half against Tennessee away from being in the Sweet 16 and you knocked off Georgetown with an underclassmen-laden team, the dream is not to go to the CIT the next season.
Not that I expect any reasoned response from a troll, but there it is. When Marshall has a night like the one the Bobcats had in Providence anytime in the next 20 years, then you'll finally get to feel disappointment for playing in the CIT.
Until then, you'll be mildly pleased with scraps.
Sorry, we got a taste of bacon and wasabi-infused filet mignon last season, so this Alpo doesn't taste all that good right now.
Ok so let me get this straight. You pulled off a fluke, and won 1 measly game in the tournament and now you're expecting the best. This is a joke....
I didn't know OU basketball so prestigious that you all demanded such quality from your teams. LOL
Dude, arguably, the biggest win in your basketball program's history was beating Memphis...a conference opponent....this year in the regular season. That's not my opinion....that's the opinion of the 4 Marshall alumni that called me after the game to go drinking and celebrate.
You have no idea the absolute hysteria of knocking off a Georgetown in the NCAA tournament. Seriously, of all programs in America, is there another that you would rather beat? MAYBE Duke? And this was as a 14 seed IN THE DANCE. When all the experts were saying that Ohio had absolutely no shot at it, because Georgetown was a supposed legitimate Final Four contender.
Even in football, Marshall's premier sport, what is your biggest program win? South Carolina? Clemson? Kansas State? Do any of those teams compare to Georgetown in basketball? Hell no.
So, when your school gets a Georgetown-level win, then you guys can come over here and talk crap about how we ought to feel privileged to play the mighty Herd in a postseason tournament that didn't exist 3 years ago.
Stand up and cheer, bitches.
