On todays CBS special "Best of College baskdetball" Mason coach Larranaga was interviewed.

Admissions up 25 % inthe last 5 years

Have been able to open 30 new facilities since 2006

Dr Bob Baker of their research department has estimated the free publicity from the Final Four run is equal to about 650 million dollars .

And now they are back in the limelight with a recent tourney run?

The talk about who is going to be the next George Mason is supplanted by Butler . Both are reall repesentative of what we all want .... a chance for everyone who can to advance if the only get the invitationto do so.

I'm glad someone took the time to put that up. That was an interesting story no doubt.

Here's an article on how VCU is trying to use the run they have this season to move forward the athletics program, and university. At first glance it seems that they may have many of the budget issues (and likely haters) as Ohio in their quest to be the best they can be.
