Nice article I came home to today recalling the improbable run of the kids to the State Championship. Good kids, Starting 5 had a  composirte GPA of something like 3.86 and BBIQ to match. All have gone on to excellent post HS careers. Proud of those guys. Hard to believe that its been 5 years already and harder to believe how much they have accomplished in that time. Great Kids that are now Great Men ready to make a real mark on the world. Their greatest accomplishments lay ahead......but at 1 am this is a great treat.

2 quotes about sum those guys up

"That group of kids was just about the highest character group of kids that you could have together," Fine says. "They were tough, they were competitive, they were great teammates. They all just brought it from a workout standpoint to improve themselves and our team."

"We were just a group where that was all we did," Botts says. "None of us were into partying or anything else. We'd all go to the Y together and go shoot together. It paid off."

For the record the 4 shooters on that team ended their coillege careers above 40% with Botts and Tommy at 44 %. Unselfish, teamplayers that love the game. Anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Thanks, Borna.  Enjoyed reading the article.  A lot of truth there.  And I'm glad to say that I got to see that group play a game that season.

I remember that night Jeff.

Gary McGhee was in that game if you remember. I think we won by 40. It always amazed me that in Anderson in no one could find a guard who could get the ball intothe post. Fast fact in all the HS AAU and college games played (30+) Matt Howard has never lost to Gary McGhee.
