Thought it was worth mentioning that Toledo's women have made a heck of a run all the way to the finals of the WNIT, and set a new MAC women's record attendance with a crowd of 7,020 in their Final Four game.

Word on the street is that Savage Arena is sold out for the championship game Saturday.

But it's not even the Big Dance. What's the point?  I've been told that nothing less than the Big Kahuna is worth playing for.

In all seriousness this is a big deal. Not only are the Rockets rolling but they are doing it in front of big crowds in Toledo.  That can ony help when the NCAA is looking for future sites to hold regionals.

Sounds very plausible they may beat their own fresh record Saturday.

Rockets win the WNIT by a score of 76-68, and they sold the place out (7,301).

Congrats to them!

Good for them, and that is a heck of a crowd for WBB just about anywhere outside Connecticut or Tennessee.

Shame I don't get CBS College Sports.

Congrats to the Rockets.  Not likely many picked them to win the title.  Their triumph, though, would be a bit more impressive had not all their tournament games been at home and all of USC's on the road.  That scheduling is as surprising as Toledo's championship.

I thought the capacity of Toledo's arena was bigger than 7300.  Even with the renovations.

Perhaps Toledo's march through the NIT field says something for the quality of mid-major conferences that don't merit even a cursory glance from the selection committee.

THREE at-large bids to the NCAA tournament went to mid-majors. And that was viewed by regular observers as an oddly large number.

Yes, I thought the capacity was about 9,500, but I'm just going by my ever-fallible memory.

The luxury tables/booths they put in are really exceptional. We played up there 2 and 4 years ago. I am so impressed by the changes. THe hall of fame is great. The walls in the lobby are well done and the departure from those rainbow seats is welcome. I did not get a chance to visit the new area at the south end as it was reserved for the members of their version of the BObcat Club.

They gave up some seating to attract the big money. I think that was a great choice as they rarely fill the place.

EDIT---- they are called loges. Eeeesh. I called them luxury Boxes./Tables. should have known that there would be  a special name for them.
