Mr. Pilot, do you  make a habit of just coming out and calling names like that?  That is kind of mean do you not think?

Not knowing what you have been putting on your feet everyday for games and practices. Not to mention, not recognizing the #1 apparel brand in the world.

"Pot Meet Kettle"

Not knowing Stevie is a recruit that has never suited up in OU gear may indicate that you are in the same boat.

Wow, assuming really does make an ass out of you doesn't it Mr. Bornacat....Not sure where I ever said that Stevie was on the team last year.  However I did say that you should know what you've been putting on your feet, and I believe Mr. Taylor wore Nike last season.

So when another guy tweets you about Russell, and makes a quip about Russell shoes...knowing you have to work with 140 characters and posting the quip will take some up...he has to say "hey fam, don't you know that Russell Athletics as a company does not make shoes, only uniforms and warmups and stuff? Besides brah, we wear Nike shoes much like the ones I wore at Gahanna and sometimes in AAU. Different colors of course though."

This was an entire non-issue until BattleCat took an informal convo on twitter to prove intelligence.

I don't believe Stevie was the one who tweeted the original "Russell shoes" Comment. I read that he was responding by saying they would only be in Russell gear (not specifially shoes/140 character limit) for one more year.

I am fully aware after talking to ST over the last two years (allof which he was in Nike shoes ) that he knows what brand he was wearing.

Your allusion to him having a learning disability or decreased mental capacity based on a tweet regarding his knowledge of shoegear notwithstanding one had to assume that you were working on the same level not knowing  he was a recruit. I did not see any allusion to Gahanna after you had originally posted regarding "OU players" and said nothing about him being a recruit. Since you talked about OU PLAYERS and not incoming recruits I incorrectly inferred that you did not know he was a recruit......

Well this is a glowing endorsement of the mental capacities of OU players. Seeing how Russell does not make shoes.

Fact of the matter since you have not met the kid, his family, his teachers or have not , once again I assume, had a peek at his grades or SAT's I find it amusing you grade his mental faculties onthe merit of an answer to a Tweet by one of his followers.

I also read the tweet as not being from Stevie but from someone else, I thought I stated that, may have not though.  My dig was not towards the player but rather the OUWOO person who promoted the original thread and used the tweet to back up the point.  Not directly at athletes.  Sorry for any confusion there, working on grants, has my head all messed up and I may not have conveyed my thoughts crystal clear.

Hopefully your writing will be a tad more concise in your grant requests.  Couldn't resist.

What was the dig at me? I am slightly confused by your statements.

Have any opinion on their shoes, Doc? The UA shoes are all very asymmetric in appearance and (I assume) support. Don't really seem to be catching on for anything but their baseball/FB spikes. Unclear if there is an uglier shoe than the red/green UA midtop that Brandon Jennings pimps.

They are indeed not making a significant dent in the market. I have tried them on repretitively. (whenever I have a couple of hours free in a city like Providence or similar I try to visit and keep up with the current market) To date I have not found a pir that is comfortable enough to actually cosider wearing. With most brands such as Saucony, Brooks, NIke, Asics and Adidas I am able to find one that fits and feels good.

Quality seems good and we have not seen a propensity for injury but that has to be adjusted for market share.

My two cents is that Delaware has Under Armour apparel and I really like what they offer for fans. The UA football jerseys for sale at the bookstore are really good quality.

In regards to Nike shoes, in high school our team used Adidas except for my senior year, when we switched to Nike. I never once had to replace my shoes when we used Adidas, but I had to replace my Nikes twice in the same season. Obviously one experience does not make a trend but you can take that for what it's worth.

Interestingly (whatever) I was speaking with Tiger Woods, whom I've never evern remotely had any communication in any form with, about our clubs.  We agreed that if he used my rank clubs and I used his deluxe clubs that I would smoke him.  'cause it's not the swing (player talent), it's the clubs (uniform).

Battlecat:  Not really knowing who said what in the tweet, I also thought it was kind of funny to mention the shoes, like they were Russell.  Took no offense to what you said like some. Of course I only read this every once in a while, when I have time in Chicago, and am able to stop my walking around testing concrete.  Talking the 140 on tweets, is that why some on here have never learned how to spell?  Next time you get ready to post,  just think,  how will all the know every things respond to my off the wall comment?  Just saying......

Kevin Plank recently replaced his entire foot ware design team and plucked 4 of Nike's top foot ware leaders to head the division.  Long road to climb in the 20Billion dollar business (of which UA had revenues of 221M), however Under Armour under Plank's leadership has in 15 years become a 1+Billion dollar company (still relatively small, but very impressive growth).  Will be interesting to see the new teams lineup in the 2nd half of the year, with a redesign in the running and cross training business release for early 2012.  UA is gaining ground in the cleated market and the continued focus on the young athlete will pay dividends as these kids grow older.  To many kids today UA is their Nike that many of us grew up with.  I love the comparisions of Knight and Plank, Knight sold out of his Plymouth Valiant and Plank out of his mothers garage, two true leaders of the American spirit.
