Youngstown State is in the Horizon... and they're still one of the worst teams in the country.  They'd want a home-and-home.  No thanks.

Living up here, I can agree with you that YSU is one of the worst teams in the country.  However one thing to note is that they went 3-1 against the MAC this year, picking up wins against BG, Toledo, and Buffalo.  With their only loss coming at Akron in Overtime.  Speaks volumes about the MAC this year.

They also lost to Kent.

Good Call.  I forgot about Kent.

The bracketbuster matchups are dictated by RPI. By Ohio playing weak non-conference schedules it ensures the program earns a less than stellar bracketbuster matchup, defeating the entire purpose of the game. I'm okay with a weak schedule under a new coach in a rebuilding program. Groce should have this program far enough along after year 4 to be upgrading the schedule.

Hate to bring up a thread that is basically dead, but I heard from a solid source that a game (possibly series) with Louisville was in the works starting this upcoming season.

Crossing fingers for a home game.

You really do not want the LOVE that close to Rick Pitino after his indiscretions at Porcini....I will own him. Oh yes. I will own him.

Considering our early season performances against top competition in recent years, this scares the crap out of me.

ten years ago the only reason OHIO got a home game against Kentucky was because - after two extremely tight games Rick said in the press conference that OHIO earned a home game against them - unfortunately he picked the worst ohio team in the last 40 years to play...

Right, the game with Louisville is not in any preseason tournament which is the only reason I thought this could be a multi-game deal.  More than likely it is just a one and done, but who knows.

My source, Drake (not sure of his last name) mentioned at the Chillicothe Bobcat Caravan that we have a few more games against Marshall. The series with Robert Morris is 4 games with this upcoming year being another HOME game while the final game will be in Moon Township. Drake also mentioned that he was recently hired at said university. He also mentioned a few schools that should be gimme's, but I can't recall who they were.

Rick was not the coach at that game.  Tubby was.  Took pictures of him on the bench.

yes tubby was the coach, but not when the game was scheduled - the only reason it happened was because of Pitino and the respect he had for our team.
