Thanks again for sharing, Ted. I like these new kids on the bricks and coaching staff finding new roles.. It takes time to gel. I must say, I feel comfortable with how the team has come together so far.

Can't wait to start MAC play. I'm sure Buffalo will give us a hard fought game with them being mad about getting blown out by Michigan State a few days ago. But, I've looked over their roster: Zid Powell, Isaiah Adams and Curtis Jones have been very good starters for them over the course of nonconference play with double digit PPG. Armoni Foster has been inconsistent, but they also have very talented young guys. If we can reduce their points in the paint I think we have a shot at winning.

Watched a bit of the Buffalo/West Virginia game on Youtube and, per the announcers, the Bulls are 11th or so in transition offense in the country. They are long and like to run for sure. Really like their freshman center from Canada as well...
We've had three very good games in a row so, as long as we can keep the turnovers lower than 12 or so, it should eliminate a good chunk of their offense...

Go Bobcats!!!

We have bounced back nicely after the Florida game, winning three straight. Boals has made good changes to the starting lineup and has us ready for MAC play.

Tough first one on the road at UB. Looks like we are 1-pt favorites. Should be a close one!

This is going to be a difficult one to pull out, however, Buffalo has Whitesell on the bench and we have Boals. That alone is advantage Ohio.

It feels to me like we have to get either this one or the BG game to avoid a potential disaster start, given the first 5 or so MAC games. Let's get this one.

We usually play pretty well up there. Bobcats are 9-5 at Buffalo since the 2009-10 season. Currently on a two game win streak.

Laughed with this. I’ll never fathom Buffalo taking the wind out its own sails by choosing Whitesell and letting Bryan Hodgson; a young and upcoming assistant responsible for Williams/Segu signings, leave with Oats.

Kinda like Ohio University allowing Groce to leave with Dustin Ford or JC to leave with Anthony Stewart? Dustin would have been a great replacement for Groce to keep continuity. I shudder at the thought that if Boals leaves Cromer would allow Lamar Thornton to go with him without offering him a ton of money to stay.

Exactly like Dustin Ford. I was on campus from 08-12; players vouched for Ford too. Never understood why Schaus opted not to stick with continuity and culture (while keeping one of our own). JC at least had success in the MAC, Whitesell hadn’t been a HC in nearly a decade when Buffalo gave him the reigns.

Agreed on Thornton.

If Dustin was such a hot commodity why hasn't he landed a job of his own yet?

Lamar is HIGHLY thought of in the building.

If Boals were to leave, I believe Boals would not even take him with him - he advocate for him to be the first and last interview.

I don’t think either of us are saying Dustin was a hot commodity. Just making the point from a continuity standpoint that it was odd to not promote the co-architect of a Sweet Sixteen (and Round 32) team, who also happened to be a former player.

That is really quite amazing considering Buffalo's success in that timeframe.

Huge swing game right off the bat. I am so excited that MAC play is here and feel good about this team right now.

If we really wanted to make a continuity hire, we would have hired Chris Holtmann.

A few of those losses were in expected down and rebuilding years. Even Saul Phillips won 2 games up there.

I really miss Sam Towns. They really miss Towns. His size and athleticism really would be a huge asset right now. Averaging 6-5 at BG. Think that would make him our 2nd leading rebounder.

Rotation really messed up. Have no clue why Roderick is getting so many minutes over Elmore and why Dwight is sitting so much.

The enigma comment in the MAC record thread feels accurate.
