Anyone watch this on FS1 last night? They had Sean Miller and Mike Anderson mic'd live so you could hear them talk during game play with minimal commentary from the FS1 talent. But it didn't stop there. You could see and hear them during timeouts and in the locker room. I'm not totally sure, but it's possible there were no commercial breaks... FS1 kept the cameras and mics up during the media timeouts. It was truly delightful.
Sean Miller looked like John Wooden compared to Mike Anderson. There's not a second wasted during his timeouts. Always teaching something intricate. During live ball, mostly quiet. Mike Anderson coached like his team was AAU eighth graders - barking at his players during play for every action, lots of dead air during timeouts, and when he did speak, it was a lot of elementary stuff. "You gotta rebound better" "You gotta stop the ball in transition".
I hope to see more of this kind of broadcast this season.
