They have played one hell of a non-league schedule. Not much results from it, but hopefully they use it to be better in league play.
Fell 81-59 to Columbia.

Columbia is a very good team, with an 11-2 record and a NET of 33. They are getting a few top 25 votes. But Ohio really collapsed at the end of this game. They were only down 58-52 with about 7:30 to go in the fourth quarter, but were outscored 23-7 from there. The Bobcats were barely contesting threes in the fourth quarter - the Lions hit 6 in that quarter alone - and as usual were badly outrebounded. Columbia almost doubled Ohio's rebounding total for the game, 51-26.
Part of the problem was undoubtedly that Ohio was playing without Ella Pope, who the Columbia announcer said was injured, and without Kate Dennis for most of the game. Dennis took an elbow to the face in the first half, was escorted off the court bleeding, and did not return. But that still left 9 players dressed, and you would hope that their conditioning would be good enough to be able to compete in the fourth quarter. I'm not sure that it is from watching today's game.
