Tough tough team.

We have some work to do.

The MAC needs to get back to winning these games after last year's debacle. That's the result we wanted to see. It is a win against one of the better mid-major teams. Good job Rockets.

Akron gets Mississippi St. in Philly too. It is a P5 on a neutral court against one of the better teams in the MAC. The MAC needs to be able to win some of those too.

The apples to apples against other leagues are the ones we need.

Toledo looked great and gritty. They outhustled UAB and earned that W for sure.

Note: This is generally the only time I root for the MAC. More non-league wins, the better

Note #2: The Akron Uni's have to be THE ugliest logo/color combo in the conference.....

Barstool has always loved the MAC.

Was really hoping Ohio could get in this tourney.

Maybe next year.

Still can't figure out why we can't get in a pre-season tourney like this last two years.

Definitely think we got a shot to get in next year. Would love to fly out to it and take it in. To be frank, wouldn't be opposed to an early MAC game there but that would be too smart for us to do.

I don't care what the outcome of our game with Toledo ends up being as long as we force somebody else other than Shumate to beat us. He's a good player but we can't let him rack up another near triple double that consists of points/rebounds/BLOCKED SHOTS.

And to think that Shumate wanted to come to Ohio out of Newark High School and again when he entered the portal after playing 2 years at Walsh.

Interestingly, one of his sisters is the leading scorer at Kent while a younger sister is getting some minutes off the bench at o$u. Keeps their dad, who coached the Newark girls team to the state title game 2 winters ago before stepping down so he can attend more of his children's games, quite busy.

He would have been an awesome piece, he does a little bit of everything mixed in with some high scoring games.

Basketball aside, I'm fine with Ohio not being in an invitational event sponsored by a company founded by known creep David Portnoy.

Good for Toledo though. They'll be a tough out for us as usual.

I watched most of the UT-UAB game and some of the Akron night cap Friday night on Barstool streaming. The production/announcing crew was nothing short of a frat party with sophomoric dialogue centered on partying and gambling. I had no idea what barstool is or who David Portnoy is so I wasn't ready for the onslaught of visual and audio images coming from the broadcast. To use a favorite word of my 2 children, it was "annoying."

The product on the court, however, was entertaining. Especially the opening game with the Rockets coming back for the win.

I'd say you probably hit the nail on the head as it relates to many grown up adults feelings toward Barstool.

Regardless of how you feel about Dave Portnoy, barstool, and any of the production/sense of humor of the broadcast, the number of viewers for these games were on par with BTN, FS1 broadcasts over the past couple years, and significantly better than ESPNU or other streaming platforms that these teams would typically be on. There is clearly a market of viewers interested in an entertaining broadcast with gambling or other aspects involved. I would be hard pressed to believe that UAB vs Toledo or Miss St vs Akron would get that much attention if they were on ESPNU or some other streaming service. It's at least an interesting way to get your program more air time in front of more people who are around college age anyway.

The crowd yesterday for the Toledo BG football gameday show from Barstool was pretty good too. Looked to be on-par with Gameday crowd size and they definitely have found a niche

Followed by losing as 11.5-point favorites today. Tough couple days for Toledo.
