Really, no pre-season hype w/lot's of out of town alums and parents in? Was it the video's of Groce's set shot that got out last year that killed this???? :)

IMO, the event was poorly attended to the point of being a bit of a downer.  If that's all the support we're going to draw, I can see not bothering to hold the event.  It's not fun to play a scrimmage late at night in front of a nearly empty Convo.

Well, then by that logic it Could be a Good warmup for similiar sized early season paying crowds................

The atmosphere at these events was always a little "blah". Not to mention the promotion last year with those awful energy drinks...still trying to get that taste out of my mouth!

The late at night part may be the biggest downer.

Why not have it the next day at a time where out-of- towners would attend.....late morning or early afternoon.

Have some incentives for fans to attend like give aways......music......other entertainment events.....it wouldn't take too many creative minds to get the fans there.

It was not "late" at all last couple times I went - 7:00-ish if I remember right.

Maybe the better idea is BEFORE a late start football game - leave a couple hours after for tailgating time....

Hey, wait a minute...I've got a great idea!  No one's ever suggested THIS before:  put a portable court up on Court St.!!  It'll draw a big crowd!!

No chance that would work.  I don't think there is near enough Athletic Department staff to pull something like that off...
