Big win last night. I'm glad I was wrong about the ultimate outcome, but I knew it was going to be a battle. Lamar just never went away quietly. Really thought our guard play saved our bacon last night. Liked the look to win in regulation by DJ and especially liked the dagger by him to start OT. Stevie and Nick hit big shots early to get us some momentum. Ivo was a pretty solid force down low. Still need to play faster and get in better shape. I'm not quite there on Smith, but I'm getting there. More Ric is good for everyone, hopefully he comes back ok from being posterized. TJ way down the bench right now.
There was one fantastic moment last night that I'm not sure many people noticed.
It was either late in the first half or early in the second half, one of Lamar's guards (I think it was Tre Lynch) did something that Pat Knight didn't exactly care for. Knight pulled him and got right up in his grill to the point Bobby would have nodded in approval. Anyways, tons of F-bombs were flying and the kid was getting a good 45 second ear basting.
After the blasting was done, Knight sits back down, and after a brief pause, turns to our fans behind him and says "Guys, I'm really sorry for my bad language there." He was laughing and grinning. I just thought it was really cool. So many of these guys take themselves so seriously, and I just thought it was a good character move. A mini microcosm of the good/bad you get with the original Coach Knight.
Very cool having him in the roundhouse last night, even as I was reminded that he did a year of prison time in Akron as an Asst under Hipsher.

Sounds like he may have expanded his vocabulary under the tutelage of Grandma Hipsher.

Yeah--that kid (and everyone nearby!) got to hear it...
