Salute BGSU for a great win at home over Temple...but unfortunately, attendance was only 1,268.

Not surprising - Sunday after Thanksgiving, students on the way back to campus, Browns-Bengals on tv and the weather pretty much stunk.  Other than that, a perfect day to have a home game against a name opponent.

This has to be the strongest out of conference showing for the MAC in several years.

I wonder if this turn of events will delay Temple's "imminent" invitation to the Big East?

I'm feeling that way too, 28.  Let's keep it rolling with a thrashing of the Terd.

That's some small time attendance right there.  Jeesh.

That's why they built a small arena. Our half full Convo will be the biggest crowds in the MAC this year. That's one of the reasons why we are relegated to the middle of the pack in college hoops.

If I was a BG fan, I would be genuinely concerned for the sustainability of athletics.

I know they got a huge amount of money from a very small group of donors, and after that, there's nothing.

You're right and Alan's right, but they HAVE to draw more than that for an upper level A-10 team.

This is nothing derogatory about BGSU.  As a fellow MAC fan, it concerns me.

If this had been a game vs. IPFW, I could understand.  But this was Temple.

To be honest Jeff, I have quite a few friends up that way. They are so OSU oriented they do not have a clue what a Temple is. That is not name brand to them. A Big 10 or SEC opponent they know, The NAIA and Div 3 opponents of Findlay, Ashland and ONU they know but an A 10 school only gets recognition when you get south of Piqua. Sad but True. OtOH on the girls side most of the BGSU hardcore fans know Temple more because they have a WNBA coach of recognition rather than the A10 connection.

Shocking because Temple is a monster name in men's basketball. Bowling Green is halfway between Ohio State and Michigan right in the middle of Big Ten country. OHIO has to deal with O$U in its backyard but not at all the other Big Ten schools and West Virginia doesn't have a regional following in SE Ohio. The regional following of Michigan up where Bowling Green is located is substantial. Notre Dame and Michigan State are also players in that neck of the woods. Indiana and Kentucky too if you are talking basketball. Families with money have always sent their kids to Indiana or Kentucky for some reason. Basketball is king in that region but you have so many top level options to choose from.

With that $10 million  gift they should have bought those dummies you can buy to put in your passenger seat for the carpool lane and put orange shirts on them, sticking them in seats.
