Ohio currently ranks 86th nationally in defensive efficiency and 21 in opponent turnover rate.

I thought that the defense yesterday was the big takeaway from the game for me. We've been hearing about the emphasis on defense the last couple of years but it may be finally poking it's head out of the gopher hole. If we can maintain that level of defensive effort throughout the year we could be a special team.

They appeared extremely quick in moving to help out - especially around the perimeter. Louisville moved the ball well and we generally stuck with them (and the ball). Bodes well against less athletic teams than Louisville as we defend the three.

True...but during Louisville's late run to win the game, our zone allowed them good looks from three. A smarter man than me pointed out that the Cards did a great job of spacing to get those shots, but still, I would have liked to have seen us contest those shots better.

You pretty much had to go zone there to prevent them from getting the ball inside and drawing a foul on every possession.
