In double-overtime, Ohio upset Xavier in the "Duel in the Desert" in Las Vegas. Porsha Harris scored 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Ohio. Game recap is linked below.

Not to go all Bobcat LOVE on you, but a double overtime win against a 3-7 team ranked 158 in the RPI is a statement win? Do we have no expectations for the women's program?

I was thinking somewhat along those same lines, although I think it is probably true that in past seasons, that's the kind of game Ohio would have lost anyway. Beating a team that ranks in the middle of the pack nationally actually is something the women's program hasn't done much of for more than a decade.

Xavier is a program Ohio women's basketball typically doesn't beat. The past few years, they've had top 25 caliber teams that have been able to recruit at a much higher level than Ohio. I know, just from paying attention to Cincinnati area hoops, that Amber Gray and Jessica Pachko were some seriously good prospects. I don't think this win is dissimilar than the men's win over UNC in 2002.

UhhhhYeahhhhh..

That 2 of the best to ever play the game in Indiana ended up there did not hurt a bit....Tashia Phillips and Amber Harris came into an established program on the way up and established their place in women's basketball history.

Got to love their BBIQ and heart of a warrior.
