It's hard to know how this game will go.  Marietta Cat Fanatic already covered many of the particulars of Marietta. 

I'm guessing around a 25 point victory...

But...this matchup still fascinates me.  Here is a team that plays with non-scholarship athletes but have proven their cohesiveness and talent with a great season last year.  Now their best player, Trevor Halter, though probably not 100%, is back.

I grew up as a young teenager following Marietta College and attending their games.  My first game in the Convo was an OU 69-67 victory back in 1977. 

Last season we played a Wooster team in an exhib. game.  Wooster made the Final Four in Div. III.  Ohio beat them in the exhib. by 86-50.  Wooster couldn't hit three point shots.  For Marietta to keep the game close, they will have to have a BIG night from three.

Marietta while having 2 great shooters from behind the arc, the large majority of their points come from under the basket with Kevin Knab. This does not bode well for the Pioneers.

I fought a long time over who I would root for in this game, as I couldn't imagine rooting against either team. In the end though, I have to root for my alma mater. If not, I'm no better than the loser who walks down Court Street in O$U gear.


It's absolutely the correct choice...unless of course you went the route of wearing both teams colors.
