was curious to see how Cooper's assists half way through his career compared to the all time NCAA assist leaders, here's what I found- After 2 years Coop has 481 assists, if he duplicates this output his junior and senior years he will end up with 962 assists which would put him 6th all time. wow.  Bobby Hurley is the all time leader with 1,076.

Here's Hurley's output by year-

Fr- 288
So- 289
Jr- 237
Sr- 262

and here's Coop through two years-

Fr- 218
So- 263

to catch up to Hurley's pace he'll need to avg. 297.5 assists/yr for the next 2 years. Difficult for sure, but he could make it close.  Its amazing to think DJ is on pace to be one of the greatest assist leaders in NCAA history, how close will he get to Hurley's mark?

p.s. for fun- Hurley had 202 steals for his career, Cooper has 202 steals as of the UNI game. Hurley had 306 rebounds, Cooper currently has 424.  Hurley blocked 6 shots, Cooper currently has 20.

go Coop!

Interesting stuff.  I used to love to watch Bobby Hurley play.  He appeard to be an average Joe who just happened to be on the best team in college basketball. Each game you'd swear he was on some magical tear and he would eventually come to earth except he never did.
