Assuming an average MAC bench, where would this starting lineup finish in the West?

PG - Stevie Taylor
SG - TJ Hall
SF - Ricardo Johnson
PF - TyQuane Goard
C - Reggie Keely

Well it appears that Keely started last game in place of Smith so....

Even so  I would say they would finish middle of the pack at best in either division.  Too young and too little experience coming into this season.  Which happens to be where you would have to place yourself when answering this question if one wish to be intellectually honest and not just an emotional prisoner of the moment.

Keely didn't start. Smith had a steal, an offensive rebound within the first minute and scored the first points of the game.

I agree with your assessment though.  But considering they are our second five (really four since Keely for all intents and purposes is the starter) that's a pretty nice luxury.  The last few seasons we would get killed in bench scoring but now we absolutely dominate in that category nearly every game.  My whole point is that Groce has put together a nice roster that will sustain if we don't have defections.  Heck, Belton probably would have been an important contributor last year if we would have had him.

Oh my mistake, I was box score watching that night and saw Keely's name among the starters.  I just checked the box score again and see now that Smith is listed as the starter as you said.

Thanks for the correction.
